Page 23 of Her Loyalty

"Yeah.."

"Whatchu think?"

"What do I think?" She joked, jolting her head back.

"I think that shit look expensive as fuck. Whatchu stole it?" She asked, making me laugh.

"Shit, I should've." I told her, chuckling to myself.

"Na' I grabbed this with straight cash though. You know our anniversary coming up next month."

"I want it to be special.."

"Hm." She said, looking down at the ring again then back up at me.

"It's nice, bro." She nodded slowly, placing her hand on my shoulder.

"But all I'm going to say is take your time. You never know what could happen."

"What that mean?" I furrowed my eyebrows.

"I'm just saying.." She went on, walking off slowly.

"You could know somebody for years and still not really know them at all. You know?"

"Na'. What that mean?" I asked, licking my lips. I felt like she was tryna tell me something but she just ain't want to say it.

"Exactly what I said, man. But it's your move after you get the information." She put her hands up, walking out.

As she did, she had me second guessing myself and I ended up closing the box. I didn't know what she meant by her words but that shit was definitely rubbing me the wrong way.

I just wanted to get to the bottom of this bullshit and for some reason, I figured it all started with T.

"Damn." I stressed.

Tiana

30 minutes later

Still sitting at the dining room table, I listened as footsteps came down the staircase. I cleared my throat, mentally preparing for what was about to happen. I knew it was time, I couldn't hold out any longer.

"Tiana." Dom called as I sat up straight.

"I'm in the dining room." I called out as he made his way over to me.

Saying nothing else, he walked in and just looked at me. There was a long silence as I waited for him to speak, wondering if I should just be the one to start.

"Tell me what's up with you." He then spoke, breaking the silence.

"You're crying real tears while I'm fuckin' on you, my sister keep tryna tell me shit in morris code and I'm just confused, ma."

"What's up?" He went on, low key bucking at me.

"Okay.." I trailed off, wiping my sweaty hands again for what felt like the hundredth time.
