"Yeah?" He asked and I nodded my head slowly.

"Aight, coo."

An hour later

"Yo, bro. That nigga on the corner waiting for you." I heard Deja say as I sat at the dining room table, eating the food Dominic made for us.

"Aight, give me five." He told her as he made his way into the dining room, sitting down across from me.

"It's good?" He asked and I nodded, scooping more grits into my mouth. His food was always good and I'd genuinely missed days like this.

"Aight, coo."

"So look, I'm about to go handle some business, I'a be right back." He told me and I nodded, looking down at my food.

"Aight?" He asked for further confirmation.

"Yes, Dom." I told him after swallowing my food.

"Aight." He said, getting up again, leaving me by myself.

Maybe five minutes went by as I waited for him to come back, the door then opened and I thought it was him but it was Deja instead. I rolled my eyes, continuing my food as she walked into the dining room, passing by to go into the kitchen.

She stayed silent but I heard her scoff under her breath and I simply shook my head at her childish ass. But I continued to enjoy my food, I wasn't even going to acknowledge her like she'd wanted me to.

Moments later, she ended up coming back out of the kitchen with a beer and a blunt, passing by again.

"What's up, little hoe?" She ended up saying to me

24.

Tiana

"What's up, little hoe?" She ended up saying to me, making me roll my eyes.

"Deja, bye. I'm not in the mood for your bullshit today." I admitted to her.

"We fought already, what more do you want? I'm not about to keep playing this back and forth game with you." I said to her, finishing up my food.

"Na', we ain't fight. I just beat your fucking ass."

"I see that eye finally cleared up." She went on and I put my eyes to the sky, mentally telling myself that she wasn't worth it.

"Whatever." I scoffed, shaking my head as she began to walk off.

"Yeah, that's what I thought." She kept going.

"Deja, bye! Why are you still going? You're so fucking fake." I couldn't help but to say. If anybody was on my side before any of this, it was her. She always liked me and treated me like family but ever since Dom and I got into it, she pretended as if that meant nothing.

"I'm fake?" She asked, raising her eyebrows.

"Na' you played my brother and you tried to beat on him because you knew he wasn't going to hit your goofy ass back. That's foul as fuck, Tiana and I can't respect it."

"So I ain't gon' respect you. Especially not in this crib." She scoffed.

"First of all, that was months ago." I ended up saying to her, pushing the empty plate away from me.
