“Hom bab’ m`ùl b?à b?âm gàtdi,”I said in a husky tone.
“Good girl,” they murmured and pulled their hand from their thighs to trace my lips. I opened my mouth and Roth slipped their fingers in as I greedily sucked them clean, enjoying the taste of their pleasure on my tongue.
It was at that exact moment that the library doors burst open. The silencing spell had been in place, but we’d neverbothered locking the doors because nobody ever came in here except for us… and Alaric. Whoops.
“I think I have an ide—”
Alaric froze as he took in the sight of me sprawled out across the table full of books, Roth’s ribbons still holding me in place and their fingers still in my mouth and between my legs.
“Damn it, Sam!” Alaric yelled. “Why can’t you ever lock the fucking door?!”
Chapter Twenty-Two
Samara
Alaric avoidedthe library for two whole days. When he did eventually return, he very dramatically knocked before entering.
I briefly pondered letting out some fake moans to mess with him but decided against it, only because we truly needed the help.
Now that Roth knew I could read Unseelie, they snapped at me whenever it became clear I was caught up in what I was reading and forced me to scan the text instead. We’d gotten through all the books on the table and were now going through the ones that we’d pulled out as potentially helpful again.
Roth’s previous lamenting about the flowery language used in the texts was spot on. I often had to read passages over and over again, not because I didn’t know what the words meant, but because I had no idea if what I was reading was actually poetry or if they were just wrapping up the potentially horrifying usage of a spell in pretty words. It was exhausting.
On the plus side, I’d found more poetry books, and Roth had been very enthusiastic to show me their appreciation.
Those fucking ribbons of theirs were really useful forgetting into some fun positions. I’d even distracted them this morning with my fingers and, based on the breathy moans as I finger-fucked their pussy, I’d done a good job.
It was my first time playing with a pussy that wasn’t mine, and I’d been a little nervous that I wouldn’t do it right.
I knew what made mine happy, but I had no idea what Roth liked. Given Roth’s to-the-point attitude about everything though, I assumed they would have been quick to give me commands if I was doing it wrong.
I bit my bottom lip as a smile blossomed across my cheeks. Kieran had told me that he wanted me to have fun and explore what made me happy, and Roth made me happy.
They were absolutely not a cuddler, though.
When I’d asked in my best flirty coy voice if they wanted to come to my room last night, they’d just looked at me puzzled and said, “Why? You can fuck me here well enough.”
I missed Kieran. He’d cuddle the shit out of me.
“Why do you have that stupid look on your face?” Alaric snapped.
“Not everyone is determined to be as pissy all the time as you,” I snapped back, and then, because I was a goddamn adult, I stuck my tongue out at him.
The corners of Roth’s mouth tilted up the tiniest amount, which for them was like a full-blown smile.
I’d decided that we were keeping Roth, even after all this was over. Which, hopefully, it would be soon. I was fairly confident that if I just kept bringing in new books and read Unseelie poetry out loud while they devoured my pussy, they’d be content to stay here.
Maybe I could convince Carmilla to build a bigger library with a dedicated poetry section…
The red gem on my ring glowed brightly, pulling me out of my lust-filled mind. Cali. Finally. The old human settlementshe’d gone to inspect had been much more remote than either of the ones Rynn and I had visited.
A mix of concern and annoyance flickered through me as I held a finger over the ring’s glyph.
I hadn’t heard anything from Rynn since she’d dropped in a couple of days ago. It was unlikely, but maybe Cali would have some idea as to what was going on with our furry friend.
I blinked when Cali appeared in the library. She was still made of nothing but shadows, but there was more detail visible than usual. Normally, her wings were wispy shadows behind her, but now they were fully visible. Even the strands of her hair were more defined.
“Did you improve the shadow projection spell?” I rose and stepped closer as my eyes continued to scan her and pick out more details. “This is incredible…”
