Jace: Holy fuck!! And I thought dating a teammate was dramatic.
Axel: Drama? Us? Honey, what are you talking about?
Ethan: He’s talking about your constant eye fucking, bickering, the sexual tension that’s so thick I’m always choking on it.
Jace: Didn’t know you liked the kinky stuff.
Axel: Come on, Walrus, don’t be jealous.
Ethan: As if. And FYI, I win the bet about Si and Coach. Pay up pronto. I accept Visa, PayPal, cash.
Silas: The fuck?
Ethan: I said sexual tension, didn’t I?
Kayden: OMG I snorted half a can of soda…damn…that is…fucking painful.
Silas: What?
Maddox: Kay was so shocked by the “Silas and Coach are married” email that he inhaled his drink up his nose and sprayed it all over the kitchen.
Kayden: A hundred percent do not recommend. The snorting, that is. But Si, bro, give us some warning next time, please.
Silas: There won’t be a next time. Damien’s it. Speaking of which, my HUSBAND is waiting on me.
Finn: Husband, holy shit, it’s going to take a while to get used to that. Hey, can we see the rings?
Silas: Don’t have them yet. Soon. But first, I’m going to get a new tattoo.
Ethan: Rufus & Damien forever LOL.
Silas: Better watch out the next time we party, Ethan. You might wake up with a hangover AND a tatt in a very unusual place.
Ethan: You wouldn’t dare…
I laughed out loud. It would be a fun prank to pull on Ethan. He didn’t like needles at all. The joke had merit, and payback was due, so I stored that away for future use.
Silas: So…are you guys okay with the fact that Damien and I are together?
Three dots appeared and then disappeared. I waited, holding my breath.
Dane: Hockey-wise, if you and Banning are focused on the game, in the game, I’m good. And I know that you will be. Personally, I’m happy for both of you. You two make a formidable team.
Finn: I agree with Dane.
Ethan: Me too.
Kayden: Same.
Maddox: Yep.
Jace: We’ve got your backs, Si.
Axel: And we’ve got a championship to defend next season!
Relief washed over me. I didn’t assume that every player on the team would be okay, but knowing that the guys I respected and hung out with the most were supportive, meant a lot.
Kayden: So, when’s the massive party?
