Shut up Megan

“I knowsomething you don’t know,” Megan said in a sing-song voice during our FaceTime on the weekend.

“Don’t do that,” I said.

“Do what?”

“Gloat. Just tell me.”

“Fine.” She cleared her throat. “Hudson and I are… dating.”

“What?”

“Oh, come on, you can’t be that surprised.”

“I’m—” I guess she was right. I’d seen this coming from a mile away. “Okay, yeah, you’re right. But still—tell me everything!”

And she did. She spent over half an hour telling me the whole story of how she and Hudson had fallen in love, starting sooner than I expected—apparently, even before we knew they were coming to our school, she’d been accidentally added to a group chat that turned out to be Take Five. By the end of herexplanation, I couldn’t decide whether I was more excited for her or angry that she had been keeping it a secret all this time.

“Megan!” I squealed.

“I know! Oh, and Hudson’s taking me to his house this afternoon so I can tell you all about it.”

“You better!” I desperately wanted to know what the Take Five house was like. Maybe now that she and Hudson were dating, I could go by there sometime.
