And a pad, because I bleed like Aunt Flo is staying for a week.

“Did you shoo me?” He raised his brow.

“I did, now get.” I stomped my foot.

He shook his head, the sound of his footsteps echoing as he walked toward me. “I’m gonna be here, with you, forever. Might as well pee in front of me, because I’m not leaving.”

“You went downstairs,” I pointed out. “I think you can handle a closed door.”

He frowned. “And it fucking broke me as I left. The tea you drank helped you sleep and not feel the stretch of our bond, Dede. Not that I’m trying to belittle what you are feeling.” His arms fell to his sides. “I’ve made a lot of mistakes in your care. Kissing you, leaving, ignoring you, then crawling back is giving you the ultimate emotional whiplash.”

“You can say that again,” I muttered.

Hawke stepped forward, carefully. His hand reached out to grab mine. “You know little about my kind, Sunshine. I’m going to be possessive, overprotective, and damn it, I want to take care of you. It’s what we do. The males are supposed to cater to every one of their female’s needs.”

I stuck out my bottom lip, wrinkling my nose in disgust.

But secretly, I think I liked the idea.

“It’s weird, though. Guys aren’t supposed to want to help with that sort of thing. It isn’t like I’ve had that much help before–”

Hawke winced, and I immediately regretted it.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean–”

“Sunshine. I deserved it.” His fingers ran through my hair. “I wasn’t there because I’m a stubborn asshole. You can call me anything you want, but from now on, I’m not giving you any space. Especially since we haven’t mated yet.”

Mated, so sex? Well, that’s a no go right now.

Once the period is over, then we better get to it then, so he isn’t up my butt.

But I might like that.

“Yes, you would,” the voice purred.

I shook my head. “No, you can’t be here when I change—my stuff. I know you differ from me.”Like you are a dang wolf shifter. “But that doesn’t mean it gives you a free pass to do things I’m not comfortable with.”

Hawke pursed his lips, and then let out a little whine.

I gasped, and he cleared his throat. “Was that the puppy!? Is he upset?” I petted his head as if he were a dog. He grabbed my wrist and placed a kiss on my pulse.

“He’s not a puppy. He is a furious wolf that will fucking kill anything that thinks of looking or touching you,” he growled.

Oh, this was hot.

If I wasn’t on my period, I swear I’d jump his bones. He was being so cute. He was even blushing!

“Aw, puppy, are you sad that I’m being difficult?”

Hawke whined again through his throat but tried to stifle it with a cough.

I’m going to have so much fun with this.

“Right, right, you are so big and bad. I can’t wait to see all those big bad teeth. But, I need to acclimate to this. I mean, spying on me while I’m sleeping in my apartment is one thing, but watching something super private for a human is not okay,” I said. “Can you give me time to understand you?”

Hawke tilted his head, then nodded.

“If it makes you feel better, you can stand over there, turn on the faucet and turn around. And don’t you look.” I wagged my finger.
