“As long as you’re trying, that’s all I can ask.” He kissed me again, this time using one hand to keep his backside covered with the sheet. When he pulled away, he ran his nose along my cheek. “Sorry, Dion,” he said. “Geet’s calling in sex for the day.”

Dion barked laughing. “Go,” he answered. “I’ll let your clients know. Though I think I’ll still tell themsick.”

“If you hang a photo of her gentleman up, I’m sure the others would understandcalling in sex,” Mrs. Bennett said.

Twenty:

“How can I help you?” the reception clerk asked, his gaze lingering on Sinjin.

“Reservation under ‘Barrow.’”

The young man, who looked maybe twenty tipped his dark brown eyes down to look at the computer screen, typing in the information. “Ah yes… Room 428—our second most popular request.” The man typed more before pulling open a drawer to retrieve our keycards.

“I can’t believe you did this,” I squealed, squeezing his arm tightly, too overcome by emotion to think straight.

“You deserve it, sunshine,” he said back. “My wife loves haunted hotels,” Sinjin told the clerk as he slipped the keycards in his pocket. The Stanley’s been on her bucket list since before we met. I thought what better wedding gift than to give her a spooky honeymoon?”

“You won’t be disappointed. Mr. and Mrs. Barrow, welcome to the Stanley.”

Nobody could be disappointed with the Stanley. With the majestic Colorado mountain views as a backdrop, and that iconic red roof and stately white exterior. I could live in the lobby. Seriously. The red wall-to-wall carpeting with the giant flowers, the antler chandelier and stone fireplace gave the air of stepping back in time to previous centuries.

“How’re you doing?” Sinjin asked. “I’m nervous and excited at the same time. What if a ghost is in our room?”

“Then they’ll get a good show because I plan to keep you naked while we’re in that room. And sweetheart, there’s nothing sexier than seeing you orgasm.”

“You can’t say that out loud. Someone might hear you.”

“Geet, we’re here on our honeymoon. You think there’s one person in this place who doesn’t know you’re about to get seriously laid?”

We’d come a long way. Two weeks after arriving back from Chile, Kam and Len held a big bash at a reception hall downtown. Both Len and Kami’s parents had shown. The whole Napolitano family, which happened to be Rob’s family, Dion and Henri, my family, me and Sinjin, and more friends than we knew what to do with partied the night away.

Halfway through the night, Rob had walked over to my sister Lu, snagged her hand, and led her onto the dancefloor. I wasn’t about to miss this and pulled Sinjin to dance with me.

“Lu, we need to work this out,” Rob said. He looked seriously hot in his dark jeans and blue V-neck sweater.

My sister looked crazy good in her short glittery dress and thigh-high boots. I’d known the minute I saw her in that getup that Rob wouldn’t be able to stay away. I’d counted on one hand the mennotmentally undressing her. “The city is big enough. We can safely avoid one another.”

“Woman, you’re not listening.”

Her jaw hardened. “Rob, I wouldn’t get back with you if you had the last hard penis on Earth.” She dropped her hands from around his neck and kicked his shin to get him to let go, then she ran.

“I don’t envy him,” Sinjin whispered as he nuzzled my ear.

“Neither do I,” I replied and swooned as he spun me around.

“But everyone envies me,” he said, nipping my jaw. “I’ve got the most beautiful woman in the world in my arms and they never will.”

“I’ll bet Len doesn’t agree with you.”

“I bet he does. Kami’s beautiful, but he got second place.”

I swatted his chest. “You just like me.”

Capturing my hand, he brought it to press against his heart between us. “You’re right, I do. And I love you, too.”

We’d been on a business trip to Japan when he proposed to me. I never saw it coming. While he sat in a conference, I took a cooking class to learn how to make sushi. Then that night, he took me to see kabuki. After the show, we stood outside the theater, he kissed me but paused while a group of school girls passed us.

I turned back to point out a particular object of interest only to find him not there any longer. Then I felt a tug on my hand and looked down to see Sinjin on bended knee, holding an open ring box.
