Hunter grins, diving in for another kiss. “I don’t see why not. I’ve beendyingto feel that metal inside of me. Besides Doc, I’d very much like to call you mine.”
My face scrunches up in confusion. “But don’t you usually have to fuck me for a bond to take?” It’s also too soon, right? He can’t possibly know that he wants me forever. Celeste can’t either. The insecurities try to drown out the moment before I shove them away and focus on my mates.
Celeste sits up fully, leaning into my side. “Lincoln, we’re already bonded. We can already feel each other. I just wish I could really show you off as mine. Likereallymine.” She arches her neck, showing the healed teeth marks in her shoulder Hunter gave her.
“A bond like that is permanent, though.”
Hunter smiles as he strokes me a few times, gathering up the excess cum and slick to start opening himself up. My heart is nearly beating out of my chest at the trust and submission my Alpha is about to give me. “Doc, I told you before and I’ll tell you again and every day after so that you don’t forget. You’re mine.Ours.And I don’t give that title out lightly. I also don’t take back my words.”
Our Alpha keeps his gaze locked on me as he sinks down on my cock, my face contorting with pleasure as his ass squeezes me until it feels like I’m being strangled in the best of ways.
“Jesus Christ, he feels amazing,” Hunter blows out, bracing both hands against my chest. “Every damn nerve, Doc. I’m going to get addicted to this feeling.” He leans forward to kiss me, groaning as his hips start moving.
“You’re so fucking tight. I’m not going to last long,” I murmur against Hunter’s lips.
“Don’t need you to.”
Hunter’s lips stray to my jaw and then the curve of my neck, playfully nipping and biting as he takes every inch of my cock into his ass. Celeste is right there to steal me into a kiss of her own, grinning against my lips. “Are you ready to be fully mine, Lincoln?”
I can only hum into her mouth, not ready to let her go as our Alpha fucks himself on my cock, his teeth starting to graze my shoulder. The bond between us feels like it’s singing, starting to vibrate and then it’s like the floodgates open, a rush of emotions hitting me all at once.
I can feel them.
Celeste’s wild excitement and Hunter’s calm control. Their love for each other. Their love for me. And maybe we’re not yet ready to say it but I know now what I’ve been missing. I break the kiss with Celeste to meet Hunter’s eyes before rolling us so that our Alpha is on his back. I search his expression for permission before taking the lead, fucking into him the way I thought about the first time he mentioned letting me inside him.
A strangled cry tears from my throat as I come, Hunter following soon after as he coats both our stomachs with his release. “I’m yours,” I whisper, almost in awe and disbelief, reaching up to touch the open wound along my shoulder. “I’m yours.”
I pull out as Hunter sits up, dragging me back between his thighs. “Yeah, you are. We’re also yours. Lincoln, you have a pack.Us.No more wandering or wondering where you fit. It’s right here.”
I never thought I’d see the day when I became more than just Lincoln and I can’t wait to find out where this road takes us.
EPILOGUE
Hunter
Mated life has been fucking amazing, walking into the house with not just one but two wonderful people. Getting used to a dog was a bit of a change but I can’t imagine life without Jasmine at this point. Especially the way she so eagerly greets me at the door. Add in the multiple kitchen disasters, Celeste stealing our clothes for her nest, and routinely trying to make us late with kisses andsomething more, I’d call our little bit of chaos perfect.
Knowing that we’re all safe and happy? That means more than anything else.
And now, I’m once again in the chief’s office, staring at him from across a desk, wondering why he called my ass in here at six in the morning on a Saturday. I could have still been curledup between Lincoln and Celeste but instead, I’m here for an emergency meeting that just couldn’t wait any longer.
I suspect that the chief just doesn’t recognize what time of day it is, nor does he care.
Ruiz and Roberts are in the room with me, both looking as rough as I feel, though I’m betting their reasons aren’t as good as mine. Another officer I don’t know stands next to the chief, just making this meeting even more confusing because I still have no idea what it’s for.
If I was honest with myself, I thought I was going to be let go after the last stunt with Carter. I’m still pissed I didn’t get to do something about him ortohim but no amount of persuading the chief would get me near Carter.
I lean back in my chair, my arms crossed against my chest, and try to shake off the fog of exhaustion. The chief’s got that look, the one that says he’s about to drop a bomb, and I’m already bracing myself.
“It’s been a long time coming,” he says, his hands clasped on the desk. “I’ve been asked to lend some of my best officers to track down Hex.”
I raise an eyebrow, my brain sluggishly catching up. “Like a task force?”
He nods. “Exactly like that. You’ll be working with a cross-county task force to find whoever was in that vehicle. No one’s asking you to pack up and move, but it’s a big commitment. It’ll require a lot of cooperation and some long man hours.”
My stomach twists and not just from the lack of sleep. I thought I’d be done with that whole mess now that we were sure he was out of the city. I shift in my seat, my fingers tapping against my arm. “The feds still haven’t come up with anything new?” I haven’t been following the news but if the pattern is the same, there would have been a new murder in the last week or so.
The chief shakes his head. “Not a thing. That’s why we’re stepping in. We’ve brought in someone from Ansdale, Detective Grayson, to add expertise to this precinct.” He gestures to the new guy, who gives a small nod but stays quiet. “Your only focus will be this investigation, unless you’re needed elsewhere. Nothing else.”
