Lollek spoke.“It is similar for our species in that we have female councils that meet regularly and ensure all are treated fairly. They are also responsible for disciplining those few males who are foolish enough to abuse or assault females.”
“Hmm, obviously, Niksen won’t be leading such a council with her personality.”
“I demand satisfaction for the insult to my character.”Lady Niksen’s lips firmed.
“What does that entail?”Abby chewed on her lower lip.
“For something like this, a sparring match until first blood.”Krinir pinned Lady Niksen with a hard glance.“I doubt it’s necessary since you insulted one of our hosts first.”
“She implied I’m not fit to lead.”Lady Niksen’s cheeks turned a dark green and a growl rumbled from her chest.
“And you insinuated that Morgan is not fit to live.”Rain’s lips tightened.“I demand satisfaction for the insult to my friend.”
Morgan tugged at Rain’s arm.
“That’s not necessary.Niksen is a guest onboard.Worse has been said to me.”
“You’re a puny human. You think you can draw first blood from me with no claws, fangs, or tusks?”The Orkite raised an eyebrow and scoffed.
“I know I can.”Rain looked at Makai.“Do you have any issues if I beat the shit out of the entitled mean girl?”
The captain exchanged glances with Krinir who nodded.
“When would you like to do this?”Makai tilted his head.
“Now works, if it’s okay with her.”Rain shrugged.
“Let’s go, then, human.”Niksen spun on her heel and strode toward the door.
“Well, you heard Princess Bitch,” Kara said with an evil grin.“Let’s go enjoy watching her getting her ass kicked.”
Females may look like sweetness, but they are dangerous.
Chapter 16
Morganfollowedeveryonetothe training area. She wiped her palms on her leggings.I can’t believe this is happening.I don’t want Rain to get hurt, especially for me.
She didn’t understand why Niksen disliked her so much.I’ve been polite.I’ve tried to serve foods she’s familiar with.I’ve been courteous. Most people like me.Why the hell does she hate me?
Stalad’s quiet presence next to her as she walked calmed her slightly. She peeked up at him from the corner of her eye.He doesn’t look concerned.Does he know something I don’t?
They reached their destination.Crax stood in the center of a sparring area and gestured to Rain and Niksen.
“No weapons other than your bodies.”
Niksen huffed, removed several knives hidden on her body, and handed them to Lollek.
“I’ll referee. If you step outside the designated area, it’ll cost you a point.Three points will be considered first blood.”
“What nonsense is this?”Niksen’s eyes narrowed.
“This is to ensure the bout proceeds as it should. No going out of bounds to catch your breath or to avoid getting pummeled.”Crax crossed his beefy arms.“Is that a problem for you?”
Niksen’s long braid swung when she shook her head.
“No.So long as the rules are applied fairly to both of us.”
“They will be.If I say ‘stop,’ you both step away from each other. No exceptions.”
