She narrows her eyes at me, her head tilting in suspicion. “Okay?”
I lean in, my lips at her ear. “I definitely don’t hate you, Cooper.”
I pull back, meeting her eyes again as she swallows hard.
I flash her a crooked grin, slowly sinking down to one knee. Her lips part, her brows raising. I run my hands up both of her thighs, over the red dress material I’d like to tear apart and frame to hang on my wall forever by the end of tonight. “Let me show you how much,” I say, my voice husky as I glance up at her.
Cooper’s chest rises and falls with shallow breaths as her back stays plastered to the shower wall. She sinks her teeth into her lower lip as she nods slowly. “Well, if you insist.”
I let out a deep chuckle, my tongue pushing into the side of my cheek. What a little shit.“I do,” I tell her, running my hand down the length of her left leg until my fingers wrap around her calf.
“I guess you better get started then,” she breathes, her throat bobbing as she stares down at me.
“Better hold on tight, Cooper,” I say, then grip her calf tightly, swiftly hiking it up and over my shoulder so that Cooper’s standing on one shaky leg.
She lets out a gasp and I turn my head to kiss the side of her knee, working my lips up her inner thigh at a snail’s pace, bunching up the silky fabric of her dress in my other hand. “I gotta know, Cooper…” I mutter against her soft skin. “Did you know I’d be here tonight? Were you trying to kill me with this dress?”
“N–no,” she stammers, sounding honest as she shakes her head. “But I can’t say it wouldn’t have been a happy accident.”
I nip at her thigh, making her jolt. “So you mean to tell me that I didn’t even cross your mind as you slipped this silky little thing on?” I question her. “That you didn’t picture my face when I saw you? That you didn’t imagine what it would do to me? How I’d want nothing more once I saw you in it than to see you out of it? You didn’t think about me pushing it up your pretty little thighs and spreading you wide to worship you like the fucking goddess you look like in this?”
Cooper doesn’t respond right away, too busy panting and swaying on her one barely stable leg as I keep her steady with the other over my shoulder. I take the opportunity to reach down and adjust myself in my jeans, this squatting position doing nothing to help the rock hard situation happening in my pants. Cooper’s eyes track my movement, her tongue darting out to wet her bottom lip as she does so, and I can’t help the groan that escapes from my throat as I watch her do it.
I reach up again, fisting her dress in my hand and pushing it up higher until her panties are just barely exposed to me. “Mmm,” I hum. “Maybe a goddess isn’t the right word. I was thinking of an angel, but that doesn’t quite fit either.” I push my hand up, tracing my thumb over the outer edge of her panties, making her shiver and whine. “No,” I tilt my head. “You’re more like a little devil, aren’t you, Cooper?” She shakes her head, biting her lip. “You were thinking all of those things, weren’t you? You’ve probably been dreaming about them at night. Tell me, Cooper.”
“Not…I–Ugh–” she stammers, her voice breaking off as I force her thighs wider just enough to run my thumb right down the center of her black panties.
“What was that?” I tease her.
Cooper lets out a strangled groan, throwing her head back as I press the heel of palm against her mound.
“Hmm?” I push. “What were you going to say?”
She sighs heavily. “I was going to say not everything is about you. But then I realized I’m too distracted to lie to you right now.”
I drop my shoulders, my eyes narrowing on her. “Lie?”
“Do I really need to say it?” Cooper asks.
“Yes.”
She rolls her lips into her mouth. “Everything is about you, Robbie. As much as I wish it wasn’t, it just is. You’re everywhere. You’re in everything. I can’t escape you.”
I swallow hard, blinking. “Do you want to?” I ask her.
“I don’t think I have the energy to try anymore.”
A smirk pulls at the corner of my mouth. I gently pull her leg from my shoulder, setting her foot back on the ground before standing up. “Me neither, Cooper.” I pull her face to mine, kissing her once deeply before pulling back, meeting her eyes. “So how about we stop trying?”
“Maybe ask me once we’re out of the shower,” she grins. “The steam might be going to our brains.”
Is it crazy that I almost forgot we were even in the shower?
Maybe she has a point…
I laugh, giving her a shake of my head.
When she laughs in return, a smile lighting up her face all the way to her eyes, I immediately take back my last thought.
