“Sara Cooper,” I gasp dramatically, spinning her around to face me. “That has to go against some sort of moral ethics code of yearbook editors everywhere.”

“Oh well,” she shrugs, looping her arms around my neck. “I guess I’ll just have to be selfish this one time. I would think you’d say rules are meant to be broken anyways.”

I give her a grin, reaching down and lifting her up so that she’s sitting on the table in front of me. “Do you think it would break any more rules if we hooked up on top of the yearbook proof pages?”

Cooper laughs, her head falling back. “Absolutely,” she nods emphatically. “And even your face isn’t worth going that far for.”

“Liar,” I whisper, nipping at her earlobe.

She shakes her head, giggling as she wiggles out of my hold, her feet landing flat on the ground. “I need to get back to work,” she chuckles.

“No,” I grumble, grabbing her face and kissing her. “Come get a burger with me.”

“Robbie…” she shakes her head.

“Cooper.”

“I really need to keep going,” she insists, but kisses me back. “I was already supposed to have the final pages sent to print by last Friday.”

“So, what’s another day?”

Cooper blows a breath out of her nose. “And even after I finish this…I really need to study for my physics test this evening.”

“And you will. After you eat dinner,” I tell her, earning me a pointed look. “What, Cooper? You gotta eat.”

She sighs, and when she looks up at me, I know I have her.

“Ten more minutes,” she says. “And then we can go get dinner.”

“Five,” I correct her, pressing a kiss to her forehead before taking a step back.

“Fine,” Cooper agrees, rolling her eyes with a smirk before spinning back around to the pages and photos.

She starts sorting through pages again when I move to her side, bracing my arms on the edge of the table and leaning my backside against it, letting her work for about thirty more seconds before I speak up again.

“While I have you agreeing to things…”

Cooper stiffens, blinking at the page in her hands for a few seconds before looking up at me. “Yes, Robbie?” she questions me.

I roll my lips into my mouth, fighting a grin. “I need you to go to Senior Prom with me.”

I can see Cooper immediately gearing up to protest, but I don’t give her the chance, rambling on.

“It’s the week before graduation, so you have no excuses. The yearbooks will already have been handed out by then and there will be no more tests left to study for or schoolwork to stress over.”

Cooper’s lips part and then close again, making it seem like I stole the words right out of her mouth. She tilts her head at me “Haven’t you been to enough dances?”

“With you? No.” I reach out and grab her hand, pulling her closer. “Never.”

She stares at me for several seconds, a smile tilting up the corners of her mouth. “Fine,” she eventually agrees.

“Yes,” I cheer, pumping my fist in the air before pulling her in to smack a wet kiss on her cheek.

Cooper chuckles, wiping at her cheek as she pulls back from me. “Geez, don’t make me change my mind, Summers.”

“Not an option,” I tell her.

She breathes out a laugh. “Okay, fine. Now, let me just do one more thing–” She starts to turn back to the pages but I stand up, pulling her by the arm.
