I walked back into the room, pulling on some clothes and left, wondering if my brother was awake.
I tapped on the door, seeing the flickering light and opened it before anyone had a chance to reply.
“Fuck.” I hissed as I took in the sight of Uther sat in his chair with an only too familiar red headed girl buried between his thighs.
“Fuck off Fain.” Uther shouted.
I rolled my eyes slamming the door and sniggered. The only problem was where the hell was I going to go now? Usually I’d find Chelsi but since the dreams had started I’d avoided her like the plague.
Uther had been a good bet for distraction. I’d just forgotten to factor in his mistress.
“What do you want?” Uther asked as he opened the door. Evidently I’d spoiled the mood somewhat.
“Just a drink.” I stated.
Uther smirked opening the door so I could walk in.
“Hello Cait.” I said seeing her not even looking embarrassed as she sat in one of the chairs sipping something obviously alcoholic.
“Prince Fain.” She said demurely, as if she hadn’t just been caught with the High King’s dick halfway down her throat.
“What are you doing up at this hour?” Uther asked pouring me a drink and handing it over.
“Could ask you the same thing.” I replied.
Uther smirked. “I think you could see exactly why we were up.” He said.
“Yeah I saw.” I said taking a gulp.
Uther laughed. “Like I haven’t walked in on your enough times.”
“I guess it’s revenge then.” I said.
“I guess it is.” Uther said. “So Jelric tells me the girl is coming on with her studies.”
I groaned. Of course he’d want to talk about her. “Yeah I heard that.” I said as nonchalantly as I could.
“You still don’t trust her?” Uther asked.
“I don’t trust any Fae.” I stated. “And I’m surprised you do.”
“I’m keeping an open mind.” Uther said. “The girl has yet to prove herself either way.”
“So you’re looking for a demonstration of loyalty?” I asked.
“I’m looking for something.” Uther said. “I heard there was a commotion.”
“You mean her setting fire to her rooms?”
“Yes.” Uther said.
“She says it was an accident.” I replied.
“Do you believe her?”
“I guess we have no reason not to.”
“I feel sorry for her.” Cait said and we both glanced at her.
