“Higher!”

I carefully pushed a little harder but made sure it wasn’t too high and was safe. Justin just watched us with a smile before getting up and entering the house.

“Bella, are you coming over tomorrow too?” asked Aaliyah as she hovered in the air.

“If you want, I’ll try to come over tomorrow. “

“Yeah!” she said, stopping her legs to get down.

“Let me push you.”

Aaliyah tried to push me with her little hands, but of course, she couldn’t do it, so I cheated and used my feet to give myself momentum, so it looked like she had done it.

She laughed happily as I rocked. I thought she was happy because I was moving, but then I felt a hand on my back and a solid but gentle push.

I turned my head and saw Nathan standing behind me. He gave Aaliyah a high five, and she ran into the house smiling.

“Didn’t you say we were meeting at the Santiago’s?”

“Yeah, but I finished work early and wanted to be with you.”

He stopped the swing and stood behind me, then leaned forward and wrapped his arms around me, pulling my back against his chest. He kissed my temple and gently stroked my stomach.

“I can’t wait until we add to our family.’’

My heart beat faster, and I smiled. “Yeah, I’m excited too.”

I held my hand over his and tugged on my lower lip with my teeth. I still couldn’t believe it, but I was pregnant. We had only found out a week earlier and we were both elated.

Nathan lifted his hand and grabbed my chin, then turned my face and brought me to his lips. It was a gentle kiss that soothed my senses and carried me to the clouds.

“I told Aaliyah to go inside so we could have a moment alone, but she’s peeking out the window right now, so I’m trying to behave myself.”

I planted a kiss on his cheek and then stood up from the swing. I curled my arms behind me and took a few steps backward. “I guess I’ll just give you some space then.”

His eyes flashed, and he looked at me hungrily when he saw my teasing smile. Then I stuck my tongue out at him and turned to go into the house. Immediately, Nathan ran up beside me and grabbed my hand.

“You’re playing with me,” he said, and I played coy, which made him smile brightly.

“Before we go to Enzo’s reopening, we can stop at home.”

I understood what he was getting at and looked forward to being alone with him again. But now we should concentrate on the visit.

So, I let go of his hand, and we joined Amara, who had just finished cooking. I helped her set the table, and we had a nice lunch together.

After lunch, I took Aaliyah out for ice cream and then took her home. Then, I chatted with Amara, who was excited and looking forward to today’s reopening. I helped her pick out an outfit before I made my way home.

Nathan waited patiently for me and couldn’t keep his hands off me when I arrived.

Our love had grown stronger daily, and I could never imagine life without him again.

Just as we were getting ready for Enzo’s party, I got a call from an unknown number.

“Hello?’’

“Hi, am I speaking to Bella Carter?”an elegant female voice rang out from the receiver.

“Yes, to whom am I speaking?’’
