“The last of the good trucks,” he grinned. “We’ll make sure everyone fucking knows it.”
I pressed a hard kiss to his mouth just as the salesman knocked on the window, choking out a laugh. “I’m so glad you like it.”
“I’m glad you broke my other truck.”
“Really?” I asked, finding that just a little strange.
“Well, no, not really. But I do love this truck.”
“Then let’s get the paperwork done so we can get her home.”
“Her?” He grimaced. “I don’t know. This doesn’t feel like a female.”
“Do you really want to say to your friends I’m taking Mike for a spin around the block?”
“Good point. I’ll name her Valkyrie.”
He pried himself off me and flung the door open, with me still laying indecently exposed underneath him. I closed my legs at the last minute, avoiding any uncomfortable stares from the salesman, but he was leaning against the bed of the truck and didn’t see a thing.
“We’ll take her,” Bradley announced.
“A woman always knows best,” the salesman grinned.
Bradley looked back at me, holding out his hand for me. “I’m beginning to see that.”

KAVANAUGH
I couldn’t stop staringat my new truck. She was beautiful. It was getting to the point that I stopped what I was doing to go to the window and look outside at her. She was just so damn gorgeous.
“Like it still?” Daphne asked, wrapping her arms around my waist.
“Fucking love it.”
“Good. I hope that can at least partially make up for what I did.”
I turned in her arms, pressing a kiss to her lips. “Baby, it’s water under the bridge.”
“Maybe for you. I’m pretty sure Duke is still pretty pissed at me.”
“Nah. He’s getting a new shop out of it. He may act pissed, but inside, he’s foaming at the mouth with all the upgrades he’s squeezing out of Lock.”
“Great,” she rolled her eyes. “So, now Lock can be pissed at me.”
“Oh, he’s definitely pissed. He’s talking about all the women taking a special driving course.”
I knew that would get to her. She stepped back, indignant as hell. “All the women? Why not the men?”
“Well, because the men don’t get in accidents.”
“Oh, really?” she snapped.
“Well, I mean, there have been a few, but not because a spider jumped out at them or because they were about to hit a fence.”
Her jaw snapped shut as she turned to walk away. “Well, it doesn’t matter because I’m not driving anymore.”
“Baby, you have to drive at some point.”
