“Well yeah, I mean, if you wanted to.”
“Are we ready for that?” he asked and the way his voice pitched up, I knew he wasn’t there yet, and honestly, neither was I.
“I’m ready for wherever we’re going, but I’m happy as fuck where we’re at. If we never got married and stayed just what we are today, I’d be a happy man. As long as we’re together, that’s all that matters to me,” I said and kissed him.
“I love you so much,” he murmured against my lips. “Now, why are you still dressed?”

Two Years Later
“Looking good, babe,” Charlie yelled from the front of the cabin while I swung the ax and chopped wood to take to the store. So much had changed in the past few years, and so much had stayed the same. He strolled over to me carrying a steaming hot cup of coffee followed by Telly, the black lab we’d adopted last year.
“At least I’m putting a dent in the pile. Hopefully next weekend we can get most of it done,” I said and took a sip of the strong coffee.
“We’ll get it finished,” he said and leaned in for a kiss. “Remember when I brought you here the first time, and you’d never split wood before? And here you are swinging an ax like a pro and looking hot as hell doing it.”
“I love it for the exercise, but maybe we can pull the splitter out next time,” I said, making him grin. It was the end of fall, and even though the valley was still hot as hell, it was pleasant here during the day, and cold enough to need a jacket at night. With a promise of snow coming soon, and I loved it.
“You don’t need the exercise,” Charlie mumbled into his cup.
“Now I don’t,” I said, and met his eyes. “I’m in better shape now than I’ve ever been. I guess moving to the mountains has been good for me.”
“Well, it’s definitely been good for me.”
“I still can’t believe I live here. If you’d have told me ten years ago that this would be my life, I would have laughed at you,” I said and knelt down to hug Telly.
“You changed my world,” Charlie said. He said that a lot, but in reality, moving here was the best choice I’d ever made. I stood and wrapped my arms around him.
“I love you,” I said just as Telly barked before running after a squirrel, making us both laugh.
“He never catches that squirrel,” Charlie said as the two of us watched him run around the base of a pine tree while the squirrel chattered at him from a branch.
“I think he just enjoys the chase,” I said. “Do you think he misses being out here when we stay in town?”
“God no, he gets so much attention at the shop he hides behind the counter when he needs a break.” Charlie patted his leg and Telly came running. We’d both adopted him, but he was definitely Charlie’s dog. “We should probably go back to town tonight. It looks like snow for tomorrow.”
“I saw that. Maybe the power will go out and we can hide upstairs for a few days,” I said, earning me a smile.
“I wouldn’t mind that.” Charlie had set up the store so that no matter how bad the weather got, we’d always be fine. Which had already come in handy more than once.
“Me either. Lounging around in bed with my hot boyfriend for a few days wouldn’t be a bad thing at all.” Our eyes met then and without saying a word, we bolted for the cabin because we knew each other well enough to know what came next. Telly was still occupied outside, so I closed the door behind me since he got a little too curious when we fucked, and we were definitely going to fuck. Charlie kicked off his boots and had his belt unbuckled and his jeans unzipped, ready to pull them off. “Pull them down and lean over the back of the couch.” I ordered, before I slid mine down to my knees and pulled my shirt off.
He didn’t hesitate at all before leaning over and digging around in the back of the couch for the lube we kept hidden there, and flinging it in my direction before laughing, wiggling his ass, and spreading his legs. “See anything you like?” he asked while glancing over his shoulder.
“Oh, I like,” I said and slapped his ass, making him yelp before soothing it. “What is it about you that makes me want you every minute of every day?” I asked before squirting some lube in my hand and giving my hard dick a few hard strokes. Stepping as close as I could manage, I pressed into him slowly, never wanting to hurt him, but knowing he loved being fucked without too much prep. It didn’t hurt that we’d already fucked earlier.
His fingers tightened on the back of the couch, and he pressed his ass back toward me. “Give it to me, baby,” he groaned and rolled his hips.
Gripping his hips, I watched as I slid in and out of him, the sight of it driving me faster, as his hips matched mine, and he pushed back harder and harder. Wrapping my arm around his chest, I guided his mouth to mine and kissed him deeply as he groaned. Finally, he reached for his dick and started pumping. His ass clenched me just before he came, and I pulled out and shot on his back. When both of us could breathe again, he gripped my hand that was still holding his hip. “Now we need another shower,” he said, and just then Telly scratched at the door before barking. “Okay, buddy.” He kissed me and pulled his pants up before tucking my dick back into my underwear and kissing me one more time before letting Telly in.
“Why don’t we shower and close everything up and go back to Grace for dinner,” I said.
“I like that idea.” After one more kiss and an ass squeeze, Charlie walked off to the shower while I stood at the door. Tall pine trees that surrounded the cabin swayed in the gentle breeze that was turning colder, proving there was indeed a storm on the way. Fall had been beautiful, and we’d spent more weekends here than at the store, but winter was a different matter, and if we wanted to get to work, it was easier to stay in town. “Babe?” Charlie yelled from the bathroom, making me smile.
After a long shower, and packing everything we’d need for the week, the three of us were on our way. “I hope we’re stocked enough for the storm,” I said and watched as the first tiny flakes of snow started to fall.
