“Well, if you need to talk. I’m here.”

“Thanks. I appreciate that.” I wrapped my arm around him. “I’m just going to enjoy the moment.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

We laid in bed for a few more minutes then took turns using the restroom before venturing off to the kitchen. We worked side-by-side making breakfast. It was the most fun I’d ever had cooking. And on top of that, the food ended up tasting amazing.

“Team us for the win,” I cheered, holding up my hand when the last dish was washed. Nick looked at my hand, chuckled, then high-fived me.

“Team us,” he smirked.

Team ussounded a lot sexier and more intimate coming out of his mouth. I bit my bottom lip and gushed over his words. Stupid of me considering he was only repeating what I said. It wasn’t like there really was ateamus.

“What are you thinking about–” he stopped talking and looked towards the living room.

“What’s wrong?” I asked, trying to listen for whatever had stolen his attention.

“I hear country music or something.” His facial expression was priceless.

“Ah. Probably my phone,” I giggled and took off for the living room. “The twins like to steal my phone and change my ringtones!” I called out over my shoulder.

I quickly fished my phone out of my purse and answered the call.

“You better be dying,” I groaned.

“Where are you?” Kimberly blurted.

“We’re at your house but you aren’t here!” Kallia yelled in the background.

“Where are you?” Kimberly asked again.

Lie, Kensi. Just lie.

“I went out for a– run,” I lied through my teeth. They both gasped. Probably because their bullshit alarm went off.

“Are you with Nick?” they said in unison.

“I’m– I’m– I’ll be home soon. What do you need?”I asked, hoping to distract them.

“She is!” Kallia beamed.

“O.M.G., Kensi! Did you guys have se–” Kimberly began.

“Hey! Enough of that talk, young lady!” I warned.

“Are you at his house?” Kimberly asked in an amusing tone. I heard her click speakerphone. Now I was in the hot seat with my two meddling sisters.

A heavy sigh slipped past my lips. I was busted with a capital B. There was no use lying to them; not that I ever wanted to lie to them.

“Yes. I’m at Nick’s,” I admitted in defeat. Nick leaned against the front door and grinned. I flipped him off and he laughed. Meanwhile, the two meddlers squealed like pigs. I’d never heard them so happy.

“Guess you’re carpooling, Kenz?” Kimberly teased.

“Oh, shut up!” I giggled. “What do you two brats want?”

“We came over because we were hungry,” Kallia huffed.
