Daddy be ok if I sweep.
I close eyes.
“Night night, little one.”
I wake up to find it’s still dark outside. The windows aren’t covered, which gives me a glimpse of the amazing night view of the beach. A reflection of the moon moves with the waves of the ocean. It’s a hypnotizing sight.
Why am I awake?
It’s then I feel it. My bladder is near bursting.
I rush to the bathroom, making it just in time. It’s embarrassing how long I let it go.
It wouldn’t matter if you had something you could use in your sleep.
The Little side of me taunts the big me. I push down the thought with a pout as I move back into the bedroom.
I stop when I find DD sitting up in bed. “Everything ok?” he asks me.
“Yeah,” I reply shyly. “Just had to use the potty.”
He doesn’t say anything else as I climb in the bed. I’m not sure if he’s thinking of something else or if he’s simply settling back into sleep.
The room is quiet as we move back together. It’s not until I’m in DD’s arms that he speaks again.
“I don’t want to upset you, little one, but I want to ask if you might be interested in something. It might help prevent you from having to get out of bed at night.”
Tilting my head back, I wait for him to continue. I suspect I already know what he’s going to say.
“Have you ever tried diapers when you’re Little?”
I shake my head.
“Would you want to?”
I pause for a moment, then nod slowly.
DD’s smile makes me feel all warm inside. “Then we can see about finding some tomorrow. I’ll call Edward for the best place to grab them while we’re here. I didn’t bring any with me.”
I slip my thumb between my lips again, dozing off as he hums softly. I can tell he’s happy with my answer, and if I’m honest, I’m happy about it too.
CHAPTER 10
Duval
“Edward?” I ask the second the line connects.
“Duval? Hey! What’s up?”
“I’m hoping you can help me out,” I admit. “My boy is a bit new to the full-time lifestyle. I’d love the chance to give him a full day of immersion like we had at the party yesterday, but I’m not sure where to get all the things I need to make it happen.”
He hums over the line, like he’s thinking it through. I really hope he has ideas for me since he helped setup the first fun day. If nothing else, he can lead me to a supply store nearby.
“I have an idea, though you might think it’s too much. Do you want this to be a solo thing, or would your boy like company?”
“He’d be fine with a small group, I think. The large crowd wore him out before.”
“That makes sense,” he agrees. “It’s easy for me to do it because I’m an extrovert. My bestie isn’t, which is why you didn’t see much of him at the party.”
