She shrugged. “Then what’s one more set?”

Walker leaned into his wife and gave her a slow kiss. “I’ll give you a baby.”

Mason chuckled as we stepped away from the couple lost in their own world. “Tonight might singlehandedly be responsible for a baby boom.”

I linked my fingers with Mason’s, leaning into his side. “I like that idea.”

He pressed a kiss to my temple. “Me, too.”

“Anna,” Kennedy called as she hurried over to me and pulled me into a hug. “Happy almost-wedding day.”

“Thanks, Kenz.” When I pulled back, I studied my friend’s face. She was glowing. “What is it?”

She stepped back into Cain’s hold, grinning up at him. “Should we tell them?”

“Up to you.”

“Tell me, or I won’t give you any champagne,” I argued.

Kennedy beamed. “We’ve got a new foster placement coming next week. Our social worker says she thinks he’ll be eligible for adoption in another month.”

“Kenz.” My throat clogged as I looked at my friend. This was what she’d been waiting for. “I’m so happy for you.” I pulled her into another hug. “Looks like we’re going to be raising kiddos together.”

She jerked, pulling back but holding onto my shoulders. “Are you?”

I nodded.

She bounced up and down. “This is the best day ever.”

I looked back at Mason, who gazed at me tenderly. This man had given me a family I’d never even dared to dream of. We had built a life that was loud and chaotic, warm and loving, and above all, steadfast. I never doubted how Mason felt about me. I always felt safe and cherished. And that life was only growing.

I stepped into his arms. “Thank you.”

He brushed his lips against mine. “For what?”

“Everything.”
