“I’m on it,” I replied as I got out of bed. Gabriel had run out of the room by the time I reached my closet. After getting dressed, I left my room to track down the rest of our pack. I found them all tucked away in the nest, cuddling each other. Graham woke up as soon as I opened the door to the nest. It took one look at me for him to understand the assignment.

“Lydia, honey, it’s time to wake up.” Graham purred out softly. He pushed a few stray hairs away from her face. Her face wrinkled in displeasure at his words.

“Five more minutes.” She slurred out, swatting his hand away lightly. He chuckled at her reaction, but continued his mission.

“I think those were up a long time ago.” He argued. She whined, but sat up. She made a ‘pick me up’ motion. I smiled at her actions before walking over to Sorren’s side and picking her up. Her scent surrounded me as she wrapped her arms around me. I was just about to leave when I remembered something.

“Sorren, it’s time to wake up,” I said with significantly less warmth. Sorren grumbled something I couldn’t decipher. After waiting a few seconds, I got annoyed and kicked him lightly enough to wake up. “Sorren, we’ll be late if you don’t hurry up.”

“I’ll get him up and ready,” Graham said. He was already sitting and wide awake, so I nodded to him and headed out of the nest.

“Where are we going?” Lydia asked, still half asleep. I chuckled.

“You’ll see, baby girl, you’ll see,” I replied. Graham and I managed to get both sleepyheads awake and dressed. Now we were just waiting on Gabriel to finish getting ready.

“Will there be food there?” Lydia asked as she checked her makeup again in a pocket mirror. She managed to convince me to braid her hair to one side. Iwas lucky to be good at it because I helped my mom get ready for work when I was younger.

“Yes, there will be food, a lot of it!” Sorren answered, pulling her attention from her mirror to kiss her cheek.

“Stoppp, you're going to ruin my foundation.” She said playfully, pushing Sorren lightly away.

“I’m here, I’m here! Let’s go.” Gabriel yelled out as he ran down the hallway. We made way for him as he ran for the door. We all grinned and shook our heads, following him out.

Lydia

“I’m starving,” I complained loudly as I leaned against Sorren. I still wasn’t fully awake from my abrupt morning. We have been in the car far longer than I estimated. If I had known beforehand that it would take this long, I would have eaten while I waited for Gabriel to get ready.

“Just a little longer,” Sorren said as he wrapped one of his arms around me, pulling me close.

“You said that 10 minutes ago.” I reminded him, taking the opportunity to get comfortable against him. I may as well take a small nap while we’re driving.

“It’s still the truth.” He countered. I noticed Graham’s gaze flickered from the road to me for a split second. He was driving now, so he stayed silent most of the ride.

“Don’t get too comfortable. We’re almost there.” He called out.

“You said that 20 minutes ago.” I huffed, closing my eyes to prove a point. I could practically feel his eyes roll at my reaction.

“I warned you.” Graham huffed out before giving up on convincing me to stay awake.

“Remind me next time to bring snacks and a blanket. Apparently, a certain someone gets moody without them.” Gabriel said from where he sat in the passenger seat. He was currently giving Graham directions to wherever the hell we were going. I huffed at his words, but didn’t move from my spot next to Sorren, who was now tracing circles around my arm. I could feel a slight rumble in his chest. I started purring myself and quickly began to feel drowsy again. Just when I was about to fall asleep, the car stopped.

“We’re here,” Sorren whispered in my ear. I groaned at his words, but stopped leaning on his shoulder. My eyes were opened for a split second before Sorren covered them again.

“I thought you wanted me awake.” I quipped. Sorren laughed.

“We do, but we also want to surprise you. Gabriel is grabbing a blindfold, so you can’t see where we are, " he explained. I hummed to myself as I considered the situation.

“You guys are being so extra. Buying me a new dress, waking me up to take me to a mystery location, and now blindfolding me. What’s next? Am I getting murdered?” I asked jokingly.

“You can be such a brat sometimes,” Sorren said, pulling me back to kiss my neck. We were still in the car, so there was little room to move around. A noise was made in front of me, and a gust of cold air entered the car.

“Okay, keep your eyes closed, Lydia. I’m going to blindfold you.” Gabriel’s voice came out from above me.

“Yeah, yeah, Sorren told me. I’ll keep my eyes closed.” I said, complying with the demand when Sorren’s hands moved from my eyes. I stayed as still as possible, letting Gabriel get the knot right.

“Alright, that should be good. Hold out your hand.” Gabriel commanded. I did what I was told and immediately felt what I assumed was Gabriel’s hand. He guided me carefully out of the car with Sorren behind me, ensuring I got out without falling. Once both my feet were on solid ground, another hand went to my waist and gently guided me in a direction. I couldn’t tell exactly where we were going, but I was glad the concrete was smooth.
