Nope, still waiting.

Me:

Keep any eye out on the old man. Someone has access to him that shouldn’t. Make that shit limited until we know what we’re dealing with.

Kane:

Aye.

Sliding my phone into my pocket, I grab the keycard and swipe it over the reader. It blinks, and I turn the knob. Stepping into the room, I unbutton my shirt and strip down to my boxers, lay on the bed, and reach over to the nightstand, pulling out my phone from home. Powering it on, I’m greeted with a picture of the kids, which brings a smile to my face. Hitting the photos button, I scroll through them all until I get to one video. Pressing play, her laugh greets my ears, making my heart skip a beat, then I close my eyes for a bit, dreaming of the day, I finally get to tell her the truth.

Now I won’t fail them. I’ll be there every step of the way, making sure they are all safe. Daddy’s home.

Her & Lullabies

My phone blares next to me, causing me to wake up in a panic. Reaching for it, I press the green button and bring it to my ear.

“Spade, what's wrong?” I rasp.

“Fucking Jay!” he growls. I quickly sit up, rubbing sleep from my eyes.

“What the fuck did he do now?” I spit.

“He hurt her and it's bad. Me and Ry are locking him up at the club's warehouse. Jade doesn’t want him here,” he informs me.

“Fuck!” I curse down the line.

“I literally left hours ago. What the fuck happened?” I ask, and he sighs.

“I’ll explain later. I just need you to get to the house and watch over them while we handle Jay,” he says as I get dressed. “Might as well bring what little shit you have since you’re moving into the pool house,” he adds, and I chuckle.

“You got it, Boss,” I mock.

“Kids are asleep and she’s in bed,” he says, and I smirk.

“She asleep?” I ask.

“Yes. Oh, and she’s pregnant again,” he says, and I can hear the smile plastered across his face.

“Of course she is. You don’t waste any time, brother. Is it yours?”

“It shooo is. She’s been craving pizza, so if that is anything to go by,” he laughs.

“Congrats, brother. I’ll see you when you get back,” I tell him, and the line goes dead. Getting my bags, I leave the room and head for the elevators as giggling to my right catches my attention. Turning my head slightly, I see fucking Teagan, but this time she’s not with my brother, Carmine. She’s with a man that looks awfully familiar, but I can’t put a name to the face. The elevator doors open, I step in and press the button for the main floor, but before the door closes, a hand intercepts them as Teagan walks in with her friend. The man wraps his arm around her, causing her to giggle as he whispers in her ear, but I was still able to catch his accent, and now I know exactly who he is. Taking out my phone, I shoot Kane a text.

Me:

She’s working with my brother and the Albanians. Isn’t Abran a part of the counsel?

Kane:

What the fuck, Lad? And yes, he is. He gave your wife a hard time during that meeting.

Me:

Of course he did. He’s also the prick who has my sister and nephew. But fuck. What is the angle here?
