“I’m going to kick your arse, you eejit,” he spits as I send another jab to his temple on the opposite side, applying more pressure. His head whips a bit, which is only making him angrier.

“Channel that rage, T. Don’t attack full force. Remember what I said, make your opponent run out of smoke. Get him nice and tired before you unleash the beast,” I say, circling him, taunting him.

“Easier said than done, Stallion,” he spits, swinging wide at me as I block the hit, pushing him away. I hate the nickname they gave me. It’s annoying as fuck and so cliche. My phone blares from the wooden stool just outside the ring, causing me to lose focus for a second as T comes at me again. I step out and to the side, spinning around, laying a jab to the back of his head. The ringing stops only to start right up again, as I turn to look at the screen lighting up, knowing it can only be one person.Spade.

The crowd cheers, bringing me back to the forefront as T lays a jab to the side of my face, causing my head to whip to the side, and I stumble a bit.I need to end this so I can call Spade back.Hitting T with the two piece in the jaw and temple, he drops, hitting the mat hard. Collins and Mika hop into the ring to help their friend. Walking away, I grab my phone as it rings again, bringing it to my ear.

“Spade, what’s wrong?” I ask in a concerned tone as I dip between the ropes and climb out of the ring, heading to the other side of the room towards the elevators.

"Ri, they rushed Jade to the ER," he rushes out, and my heart drops, causing me to stop in my tracks. “Dalton stabbed her inside the mausoleum,” he says, and I swear the room spins as he continues. “She lost a lot of blood.” His voice cracks.Fuck. This isn’t good.

“Where’s Jade?” I growl as I hear shuffling in the background.

“S-she had to have an emergency C-section–”

“Is she okay? Are the babies okay?” I ask as I swallow thickly. My fucking heart is in my throat as it races uncontrollably.

“No, Ri. She’s not. I can’t believe I have to tell you this over the fucking phone,” he says, his voice shaky.

“Tell me they are okay, Reid!” I shout as sobs come through on the other end.

“I-I can’t, Ri. We lost Jade for a few minutes, but she’s a fighter and they have her stabilized for now,” he stammers.

“Buttttttt… Fucking spit it out! My patience is wearing Reid!” I yell as he takes a deep breath.

“We lost Haven. Between the multiple stab wounds and the cord wrapped around her neck, she was gone before the doctors could remove her. I’m so sorry, brother,” he cries as I fall to my knees and scream with a roar. Taking my phone, I launch it across the room, into the brick wall as it shatters into a million pieces. Tears stream down my face as I roar in anger again, gripping my long hair in my hands, pulling as hard as I can. Someone places their hand on my shoulders and I whirl on them. Standing up, I see Kane with his hands held up in surrender as I heave for breath I can’t seem to catch.

“D, what happened?” he asks, and I shake my head as tears continue to pour down my face. “D, talk to me. Is it Jade?” he asks again, a little softer this time, stepping into my space. Nodding, I try to force the words out, but I don’t want to say them. I can’t say it. My baby girl is gone. I never got a chance to hold her. I failed my family. Strong arms wrap around me, causing me to sob harder.

“Haven is gone, Kane. She’s fucking gone. Dalton stabbed Jade, and I failed her. I failed to protect my family,” I yell, but he only squeezes me tighter.

“It will be okay, Lad. This fucking sucks and it hurts so fucking bad. I’m sorry, D.I’m so fucking sorry,” he says. Lifting my head, I look at him.

“I need a drink. Can we get the fuck out of here for a little while? I need to breathe a bit!” I spit, and he nods.

“Yea, I know just the place. Let’s go,” he tells me as we walk to the elevators.

“I’m going to need a new phone,” I say, and he laughs.

“You’ll have a new one by sunrise. Don’t worry,” he assures me and I nod as we get into the elevator, taking it to the top floor.

“We just gonna go out like this?” I say, and he nods.

“Yep. We will blend in better this way, anyway. Trust me,” he says with a wink as I follow him through the castle and out the front door to his hunter green G-Wagon. This is seriously my worst fucking nightmare. I’m so fucking far away. I can’t help anyone, let alone myself. If I could, I’d take the first flight out of here, but I fucking can’t, and that alone angers me to the point of fuck everything to hell.

Hours later and six shots deep, I stumble from my stool as we sit at the local pub, drowning my sorrows with a bottle of whiskey. Women have approached me, but Kane sent them away, knowing I will never step out on my wife, not even in my condition. I don’t even look at other women. No one can ever compare to her. She’s my one and only. That shit will never fucking change.

Pouring myself another shot, I think about my girl and how much I miss her. I haven’t heard her voice in months, haven’t felt her touch in so long, I almost forgot what she smells like or what she feels like pressed against me in my arms.Fuck!Slamming another shot back, I hiccup, knowing my limit has come and gone, but I don’t care. I almost lost my wife tonight, but even worse, I lost my daughter, and that hurts so fucking bad. My heart squeezes in my chest as I continue to pour shot after shot, not caring that Kane is probably going to have to roll me out of here.

Commotion in the back of the pub grabs my attention as a man about half my size is yelling at a woman for god knows what, but I don’t like his tone. Looking over at them, I see him slap her across the face so hard she stumbles back, bouncing her head off a shelf against the wall. She cries out, but no one does anything to help her. What the fuck.

Rising from my seat on wobbly legs, I stumble a bit, but I don’t give a fuck. No man should ever put his hands on a woman. Looking over at Kane, I smile, seeing he is too distracted talking to some blonde girl and laughing with a few other people.

Walking over to the man who is still yelling at the woman, I tap him on the shoulder, and as he turns to look at me, I rear back and punch him in the face. His head snaps back, and he stumbles into the woman, causing her to scream. He rights himself before charging at me, but I move to the side, grabbing him by the back of his shirt and sending him flying into thenearest table. Chairs fall over as he tries to stand, but I snatch him by the back of his head, gripping his hair in my fist, then slamming his face into the wooden table over and over again, reveling in the sound of bones breaking in his face.

Kane rushes over, grabbing me, and pulling me away from the man whose blood is pouring from his face. Our eyes collide, and he spits on the ground.

“Tá tú marbh!” he growls as Kane pushes me towards the exit door. Cold air hits me in the face, and I stumble, catching myself on the light post.
