“This bitch must be insane. You better get the fuck on before I send your ratchet ass to jail!” Cam threatened through the closed front door.

“Stop hiding behind the door and say that shit to my face!” Asha screamed.

“Maybe you should go out there, Cam. This is a quiet complex and somebody might call the police,” Demi said.

“Good, let that bitch get locked up,” Cam fumed.

“I thought you changed the access code and stuff,” Demi said.

“I did. Her stupid ass must be coming in behind another car. The damn guard ain’t never at his post. I can’t wait to get the fuck away from here,” Cam replied.

“You don’t have long. Your house is almost fully furnished and decorated,” Demi noted, as Asha continued to act a fool outside.

“Fuck you, Camden! I bet you’ll be calling me before I call you!” Asha yelled, stopping her assault on the front door.

“I guess she finally tired herself out,” Demi sighed in relief.

Cam still heard movement outside the door, so he got up to go investigate, with Demi trailing right behind him. He had just gotten to the front door when an envelope was pushed underneath it. He looked at Demi and shrugged, right before he picked it up and tore it open.

“The fuck! This bitch must be crazy!” Cam bellowed as he opened the front door and rushed outside. Asha was just getting to her car when he ran over to confront her.

“Oh, I guess you wanna talk now,” Asha said with a satisfied smirk.

“The fuck is this Asha?” Cam asked while tossing the contents of the envelope at her feet.

“You ain’t blind nigga, you see exactly what it is. I hope you’re ready because shit is getting real in about six more months,” Asha replied.

Cam felt like he couldn’t breathe when he opened the envelope and saw the ultrasound pictures that Asha had slipped under his door. Randy might have been her fool, but Cam was not that nigga and she knew that.

“Girl, you got me fucked up if you think I’m taking care of another nigga’s baby. You better go run that lame ass game on Randy or one of them other clowns!” Cam barked.

“Don’t act like we weren’t fucking every morning and night nigga. Besides, I barely slept with Randy around the time I got pregnant,” Asha replied.

Asha had been feeling bad a lot lately, but she contributed her symptoms to the flu that she’d been diagnosed with. When the nausea and vomiting didn’t stop, Asha took a pregnancy test and found the root of her problem. Randy always fussed at her for sleeping and eating all day, but she didn’t know why she was doing it. Asha was happy about the life growing inside of her, but she would have been happier if she knew for a fact that Cam was the father.

“I’m not trying to hear shit that you have to say. Call me when it’s time to take the test,” Cam concluded.

“That’s six months from now Camden. I have to buy maternity clothes and pay doctor’s bills right now!” Asha yelled.

“I suggest you go get a job then. Unless you plan to take a paternity test to prove it before the baby is born, I’m not doing a damn thing,” Cam promised her.

“Hey Demi, I guess we’ll be seeing a lot more of each other now,” Asha said with a wave as she looked behind Cam.

He turned around and saw Demi standing there with a blank expression plastered on her face. They both wondered how Asha knew who she was, but that wasn’t the focus of their problem. Asha couldn’t stop staring at the other woman, who she had to admit was beautiful in her own right. Demi was short, dark-skinned, and sexy, just like Cam liked them.

“Come back in the house Camden. Arguing outside is too beneath you,” Demi said as she reached out her hand to him. Cam turned his back on Asha and gladly accepted it.

“You better tell her about me, Cam. She don’t want it with me and you know it!” Asha yelled to his departing back, right before she pulled off.

“Man, fuck!” Cam yelled as he flopped back down on the sofa.

Things in his life were just starting to look up and now he had more bullshit to deal with. Sharing space with Asha had become unbearable, so sharing a child was too much for him to even think about. He and Demi were being pulled further apart before they even had a chance to make shit official.

“Be honest with me, Cam. I promise you that I won’t feel any differently, no matter what you say. Do you think that it’s your baby that she’s carrying?” Demi asked as she straddled him and rubbed his back.

“You don’t have to convince me to be honest with you, Demi. I’m gonna do that no matter what and that’s my word,” Cam promised.

“Okay,” Demi replied. “But, about the baby. Is there a possibility that it could be yours?”
