“Watch my shit cousin. That’s my song!” Savoy yelled when the DJ started playingBack that ass upby Juvenile.
She ran to the middle of the dance floor, along with a lot of other women. Some of the men pulled out their phones, ready to record some asses shaking.
“Man, look at your sister. She’s about to back it up right out of her wedding dress,” Cam laughed when he looked over at Imani.
“That’s our shit. We used to tear the dance floor up whenever that song came on,” Demi said as she threw her hands in the air and bounced in her seat.
“Don’t get fucked up Demi. You ain’t backing shit up until you get home,” Cam fussed.
Demi wanted to mess with him, so she stood up and turned her back to him. Cam held on to her small waist, as Demi backed it up on him while he sat down in the chair. Cam closed his eyes, as Demi swayed back and forth to the beat.
“Let me leave you alone before your nature starts to rise.” Demi chuckled.
“Too late,” Cam said, as Demi went back to her seat.
She dropped Savoy’s phone on the floor, but Cam grabbed it before she bent down to get it. Once he handed it back to her, Demi felt it vibrating in her hand. A text message was coming through that made Demi pause and read it. Her name was being mentioned in the message and she wanted to know why. The number was familiar to her, but she couldn’t think of where she’d seen it before. Demi and her sisters all knew that Savoy’s password was her deceased father’s birthday, so she entered it and read through her text messages. Demi’s pressure rose to dangerous levels as she read through the message thread to see exactly how the conversation had started.
After seeing more than enough, Demi walked away, in search of the snake who she also called cousin and friend.
“Where are you going?” Cam asked when he saw her leaving their table.
Demi ignored him as she walked through the crowd and parted it like it was the Red Sea. She spotted Savoy backing it up on some random nigga, like her husband wasn’t in the same room. She looked up at Demi and smiled, but that smile faded when her cousin grabbed her hair and dragged her off the dance floor.
“Let me go Demi! What the hell are you doing?” Savoy yelled as she tried to pry Demi’s hand from her scalp.
The DJ cut the music and people started moving out of the way, giving Cam a perfect view of what was going on.
“Fuck!” Cam yelled as he jumped over tables and chairs, trying to stop Demi from beating the brakes off her cousin.
Demi didn’t look like nobody’s attorney the way she had Savoy in a head lock, slamming her fist into her face. Cam found it strange that Imani and Isis stood right there and watched, but never made a move to stop it.
“Bitch, keep my muthafucking name out your mouth hoe!” Demi yelled, hitting Savoy with each word that she spoke.
“Baby, chill, come on; let her go,” Cam said as he lifted Demi high up in the air.
Savoy’s mouth was leaking blood and one of her eyes was almost closed. Demi was rowdy, another side of her that Cam was seeing for the first time but loved just the same. She was screaming obscenities to the top of her lungs, as he carried her to the other side of the room. Imani and Isis were right behind them, trying to make sure that their little sister was okay.
“What the hell happened?” Imani asked as soon as they were alone.
“I’m sorry for ruining your wedding sis, but that bitch got me fucked up!” Demi fumed.
“Girl, you didn’t ruin a damn thing. We’re all leaving soon because we’ve only got another hour left with the hall,” Imani replied.
“What happened sis?” Isis questioned.
“That bitch has been telling Lawrence and Kamari my business. I was holding her phone when a text message came through. I couldn’t remember where I knew that number from, until I went through all the messages and figured out that it was Lawrence. She’s the reason that Kamari knew where me and Cam were at the day he rolled up on us. That bitch must still be fucking Lawrence,” Demi rambled in anger.
Demi was pissed when she saw the messages between her cousin and her husband’s best friend. Apparently, Savoy saw Demi and Cam outside the restaurant once and she’d been running her mouth ever since. She even told Lawrence about Cam taking Kamari’s place in Imani’s wedding. Demi was so happy that she hadn’t told Savoy any of her business because she would be fucked if she did, all behind some dick.
“I feel like going back over there and slapping that hoe right in her dick suckers,” Imani said angrily.
“Y’all calm down. Demi already half killed the girl,” Cam replied.
“Let me go talk to mama, Imani. I’m sure she’s wondering what’s going on,” Isis said.
“You ready to burn out Mayweather?” Cam asked Demi.
“Yeah, I’ll call y’all later or tomorrow sis. And tell your mama that I’m sorry,” Demi said while hugging her sister.
