“Nigga what!” Aiden yelled while trying to get at him. Raheem wasn’t letting that happen though. They had fought enough, and it was over.
“I told you that they didn’t give a fuck about you. They put that bitch Faryn before you and you’re their blood. Nigga married a hoe and act like he did something special,” Kane said while grabbing Ava’s hand.
Roman’s head snapped around in his direction when he made the comments about his little sister. He didn’t know who Kane was, but he was damn sure going to find out. He had the entire game fucked up, coming to his sister’s reception on that bullshit. And disrespecting her for any reason was a big mistake.
“You know that is not true Ava. You’re upset with Faryn about something that happened in the past. Place some of the blame on your husband too. He’s only trying to fill your head up with all that bullshit because he’s guilty. I just want my family to get along. Is that too much to ask for?” Ella cried, as Makena tried to console her.
Ava left with her husband without so much as a backwards glance. Landon felt like shit as he walked over to his grandmother and pulled her into a hug.
“I’m sorry grandma. I didn’t mean to upset you like this,” he apologized.
“It’s okay baby. I’m just sorry that your reception got ruined by all this foolishness,” Ella replied.
“It’s all good. As long as it wasn’t the wedding.” Landon shrugged.
“Are you okay baby?” Ella asked Faryn.
“I’m fine. At least somebody cared enough to ask,” Faryn replied with a roll of her eyes.
“Stop being so damn dramatic Faryn. You drug that damn girl out of the bathroom by her hair while you were punching her. I know you’re fine because I didn’t see her get a lick in,” Landon said.
“I can’t believe that bastard pulled out a gun on you,” Makena fumed.
“I didn’t even see that shit,” Landon replied while shaking his head.
“That muthafucker better not ever think about stepping foot in my house again. I’ll make Ava a widow my damn self if he does,” Ella threatened.
“I can make it happen tonight if you want me to,” Aiden replied.
“Shut the hell up Aiden. Let’s just go. I’ve had enough excitement to last me for a lifetime,” Ella said as they all walked out together.
All the guests had already gone and they were ready to do the same.
“Come ride with us, Aiden. We’ll bring you home,” Roman offered.
He needed to pick his brain about his brother-in-law to see what the deal was between him and Faryn. They waited until Landon, Faryn, and the kids got into their car and pulled off before they did the same.
“Faryn beat up auntie Ava,” Lennox said as he and Lance fell out laughing.
“How she let a pregnant lady beat her up?” Lance said as they continued to laugh and discuss the fight.
“Look at that, setting a bad example for your stepsons already,” Landon said while shaking his head.
“Don’t do that Landon. You know that was not my fault. I’m sorry y’all. I shouldn’t have done that. Fighting is not the way to solve problems,” Faryn explained.
“Uh-uh, don’t try to jump into counselor mode now. Pregnant with two babies and fighting at your wedding reception. I need to get an annulment,” Landon joked.
“Ain’t no divorce nigga. You said I do and you’re doing it for life. I’ll be on the next episode of Snapped if you even try it,” Faryn threatened.
“Damn,” Landon said as he doubled over with laughter.
“Let’s go get some ice cream,” Faryn suggested.
“Whatever you want baby,” Landon replied as he drove.
He and Faryn listened, as the boys talked about everything from the wedding to school and anything in between. Landon stopped to get them all some ice cream before heading home. He and Faryn’s first day as husband and wife was full of drama, but that seemed to be the norm for them lately. He still wouldn’t change anything about his life, even the bad parts. It was all worth it because he found his real soul mate and he and his boys were happy. In a few more weeks, he would have two more reasons to be even happier.
