“Aww, you’re gonna make me cry. I know that I haven’t been the best mother to y’all and I’m sorry for that. I did a lot of things wrong that y’all are too young to understand. I can’t take back what happened in the past, but I promise not to make the same mistakes twice. I just ask that y’all forgive me and give me another chance to get it right. I promise not to let y’all down again,” Malia said as tears came to her eyes.

Although she was still living with Cora, her goal was to save up enough money to get her own place for her kids to visit. Her mother loved when her grandsons were there, but Malia wanted them to have their own space. Cora’s house was a matchbox compared to where they lived. They never complained, but Malia knew that it took some getting used to.

“I forgive you,” Lennox said as he hugged her.

“Thank you, baby,” Malia said as tears fell from her eyes.

Lance was quiet the entire time, but that was okay with her. She wasn’t going to rush him to do anything and she didn’t love him any less. The fact that he was even around her again was a blessing. Lennox was always a mama’s boy, so things came easier with him. Lance had an attitude like his father and he was tougher than the average kid his age. He stood firm on his feelings and he didn’t budge until he was good and ready.

“Okay, so what do y’all wanna do now?” Malia asked once their tender moment was over.

“Let’s do the bumper cars,” Lance spoke up.

“Bumper cars it is, but I’m warning y’all. I’m not taking no mercy just because y’all are my babies. I’m bumping anything that comes close to me,” Malia said, making them laugh.

They all ran to the bumper cars and stood in line for their turn. Malia was having a ball with her boys and she missed spending time with them. Besides school and work, they were the only other things that she was focused on. She didn’t have a man and she wasn’t looking for one. She was learning to love herself and not depend on a man to do it. Aside from spending time with her boys, that was the best feeling in the world.
