“I can’t sis. I have a few errands to run, but I’ll call you once I’m done, if it’s not too late,” Kya said.
“Okay. Maybe I’ll just watch a movie or something,” Ava replied before she hung up.
Ava tried hard to take her mind off her husband and focus on something else. The nagging feeling in the pit of her stomach just wouldn’t let her be. Ava hadn’t tracked Kane’s phone in a while and she didn’t want to start that up again. She always ended up getting her feelings hurt whenever she did. Still, something was telling her that he wasn’t where he was supposed to be. Instead of tracking his phone, Ava decided to take a ride to his job to see for herself.
It took her about thirty minutes before she was pulling up to the NASA assembly facility. There was an access gate at the front, so there was no way that she could get inside without a badge. She called Kane twice, but she never got an answer. She could see a few cars in the parking lot, but not all of them. When Ava saw a car coming towards the exit, she prayed that it was someone that she knew. Her prayers were answered when she recognized one of the women who had attended Landon’s wedding. She was cool with her husband and nephew, so she smiled and waved when she saw Ava standing outside of her car at the entrance.
“Hey girl. What are you doing here? Your nephew is out on maternity leave with his wife,” she said.
“I wasn’t looking for Landon. I’m looking for Kane,” Ava said, wiping the smile off the other woman’s face.
She dropped her head and looked away like she was no longer happy to see her.
“What?” Ava asked, noticing the change in her demeanor.
“Kane doesn’t work here anymore. He resigned about a month ago. I’m sorry, but I thought you knew,” she replied solemnly.
Ava was happy that she was leaning against her car because she felt like she was about to fall. Kane had supposedly been working twelve and sixteen hour shifts for the past two weeks, but that couldn’t have been true. If her calculations were correct, he resigned from his job around the same time as Landon’s wedding, per what the other woman was saying.
“I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to cause any trouble,” the other woman apologized.
“No need to apologize. I appreciate you for letting me know,” Ava said as she got back into her car.
She pulled out her cellphone and logged into her iCloud account to track her husband’s phone. Kane was nowhere near where he was supposed to be, but Ava was about to walk down on him wherever he was. He was always proving her family right, and she was tired. It was getting harder to smile when all she ever wanted to do was cry. She followed the directions that her phone was giving her, but she wasn’t very familiar with the area. She was starting to think her phone was leading her to a dead end until she saw something that got her attention.
Ava’s heart was beating out of her chest when she pulled up in the parking lot of JB’s Gentlemen’s Club. The place looked like a hole in the wall, but they seemed to have a lot of business. She replayed the argument that she had with Faryn in her head. There was obviously some truth to what she had said, and the proof was staring her right in the face. There were lots of cars in the parking lot, as Ava drove around trying to find Kane’s. It didn’t take her very long before she spotted it backed into a spot right near the entrance. The place looked like a dump, but Ava grabbed her taser and entered, along with a group of other women.

“Shit,” Kane hissed as he watched his dick disappear down one of the dancer’s throats.
Kane rested his hand at the back of her head as she sucked him up like a vacuum. It wasn’t hard for her to swallow him whole because he wasn’t very well endowed. He had been stressed out for the past few months and he needed some relief. Aside from the beef that he had with Aiden and Landon, Kane’s marriage was another thing that was heavy on his mind. He loved Ava more than anything, but all the arguing was getting to be too much. Things hadn’t been the same with them since the night of Faryn’s baby shower. Admittedly, he was upset when Landon proposed to her, but he thought he hid his feelings well. Obviously, he didn’t, and Ava was pissed at his reaction. He didn’t want to go, but Ava insisted that he accompany her since Ella had basically guilted her into going. It seemed like all they did was fuss since then and he was tired of it.
Kane had a lot on his mind and he needed a wife, not another mother. He was sure that things were only going to get worse once he told her some of the things that he’d been hiding. Resigning from his job was one of them and he was sure that she was going to be pissed. Thanks to his parents, he and his sister were good on money, but Ava wouldn’t care. The more the merrier was her way of thinking. She depended on that income to shop, as if she was the one working for it. Kane wanted to tell her when he first did it, but he wasn’t in the mood to argue. Working with her nephew had become uncomfortable, and Kane no longer felt safe. He wasn’t too worried about Landon, but Aiden and his threats weren’t to be taken lightly. The last straw was when he went to work the Monday after Landon’s wedding and saw his brother-in-law standing outside the gate with another man. He’d seen the dude before, but he couldn’t remember where. When Kane locked eyes with him, Aiden made his hand into the shape of a gun, and Kane was shook. He resigned the very next day and never looked back.
“Keep going. I’m bout’ to cum,” Kane said as he pushed her head down further.
He bit his bottom lip hard as he spilled his seeds in her mouth and watched as she drank and swallowed. After getting head from a few of the others, Kane soon learned that she was the best. Just like he used to do with Faryn, he requested her every time he went there. Unlike his situation with Faryn, Kane didn’t catch feelings and he only paid her for her services.
“You want me to hang around?” she asked, knowing that he would probably want sex at some point during the night.
“Nah, I’m good for now. I know where to find you if I need you,” Kane said as he stood to his feet.
He fixed his clothes and reached into his front pocket. After counting out a few bills, he handed them to her and watched as she counted it.
“Thanks boo. You want a drink?” she asked while walking towards the exit.
Kane was a regular and JB never charged him for liquor. He spent enough money on everything else, so there was no need to.
“Yeah, you know what I like,” Kane said as he followed behind her.
“I got you,” she said as they exited the private area.
He was looking down at his phone at all the missed calls that he had. Ava had called twice, and she was the only one that he was worried about calling back.
“I don’t even know why I’m surprised. A leopard will never change its spots,” Ava said when she saw her husband following one of the strippers out of the private areas.
Kane stopped in his tracks, shocked beyond belief at seeing his wife in a place that he considered his guilty pleasure. The look of hurt and anger couldn’t be missed as Ava shook her head at him in disgust.
