She hated the tension that existed between her family, but they were all adults. She couldn’t make them have a relationship with each other, even though she wanted them to. Landon and Makena made it clear that they wanted nothing to do with Robin, and she had to respect that. They didn’t really say much to Ava either. Ella was just happy that they could be in the same room without arguing and trying to fight.
“Can I hold her?” Robin asked as she stood over Makena and looked down at London. Makena looked to her brother for an answer before she did anything.
“Yeah, you can hold her,” Landon replied, making his wife smile.
He and Makena made it very clear to their mother where they stood. There was no need to be petty and he wasn’t trying to be.
“She’s so pretty,” Robin said as she smiled down at her only granddaughter.
It was bad enough that she didn’t have a relationship with her kids, but she probably wasn’t going to have one with her grandkids either. Robin took the blame for the role that she played in it all, but she honestly thought that Landon and Makena were being a little too harsh. They had a reason to not want her around and she understood that. She just wanted them to let her be a part of her grandkids lives. She wanted a chance to get it right, but they weren’t having it.
“Thanks,” Faryn replied to the compliment.
Robin stayed around a while longer before she fixed her food and left. Makena and Faryn put the food away and cleaned Ella’s kitchen before they all left too. Once they got home, it was only a little after six. Landon gave the kids a bath one by one while Faryn folded some clothes. Both babies had a warm bottle and went right to sleep afterwards. The boys went to their rooms, and he and Faryn went downstairs and chilled on the sofa. Faryn was on the phone with Harley, who was still begging her to go out.
“Bye Harley. Bye Patrice. Y’all have fun,” Faryn said before she hung up on them.
“What are they talking about now?” Landon asked as he laid on the sofa behind her and pulled her close. He had the baby monitor in his hands, just in case one of the twins woke up.
“The same thing. They’re going to that new club that we’ve been talking about,” Faryn replied as she flipped through the channels on the tv.
Landon felt bad as hell when she said that. Faryn and Harley had been talking about a new club that was having a grand opening for months. Now that the time had come, she wasn’t even going. He knew that she was only staying home because she didn’t want to leave him alone with four kids. Landon didn’t understand her reasoning behind that because she stayed home with all four of them when he went out to celebrate Raheem’s birthday. He felt like he was being selfish and that was nowhere in his character. Faryn was a great wife and mother and she deserved some time to herself.
“I think you should go,” Landon said after a few minutes of silence.
“Why?” Faryn questioned.
“Because I know you want to. You and Harley have been talking about that club for a minute. I think you should go,” Landon repeated.
“I did want to go at one point, but I’m good,” Faryn replied.
“I know you’re worried about leaving me with the kids, but I can handle it. You haven’t done anything in a long time. Go out and enjoy yourself,” Landon suggested.
“Are you sure baby?” Faryn asked as she turned around and looked at him.
“Yeah, call and put Harley out of her misery,” Landon laughed.
“Thanks baby. Let me go find something to wear,” Faryn said as she jumped up and ran upstairs.
Landon had a sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach, but he tried his best to ignore it. Clarence’s words kept ringing in his ears and he knew that his stepfather was right. Faryn was nothing like Malia and he had to stop thinking the worse. His wife had never given him a reason to doubt her love or loyalty. He had to shake off the bad feeling that he was getting and trust that his wife was the same woman that he had married some months ago and nothing had changed.
