She used to be slimmer back in the day, but she had filled out nicely. Faryn was always pretty, but she was beautiful to him now. Jo-Jo had thought about Faryn a lot over the years, but he had no way of contacting her. He heard that she started stripping, but he didn’t know how true that was. Faryn had earned a name for herself in high school when he started messing with her, but that was a long time ago. He knew for a fact that she was still a virgin because he was the first to get a taste of her. Looking at her now, he wouldn’t mind having another sample.
“You used to mess with Joseph?” Kyron asked, calling him by his real name.
“That was a long time ago. I was only fifteen years old,” Faryn replied.
“Yeah, but we can change all that. Unless you got a man living up in there with you,” Jo-Jo said as he nodded his head towards her apartment.
Faryn hated that anyone knew where she lived and that was what she always tried to avoid.
“Nah man, she don’t have nobody living with her,” Kyron said, making Harley look at him and frown.
“Faryn is a grown woman, Kyron. She doesn’t need you to speak for her,” Harley said angrily.
She had just met Jo-Jo and she already knew that she didn’t like him. Something about him rubbed her the wrong way. She needed to get Faryn alone to see just how well they knew each other. Kyron was always trying to hook Faryn up with one of his boys, but Harley wanted her to give Landon a chance.
“So, what’s up Faryn? You got a man, or can we pick up where we left off a while ago? You know I never did have a problem taking care of you and nothing has changed,” Jo-Jo said as he stepped closer to her.
Harley smiled when she heard the elevator ding and saw Landon step off and make his way down the hall to Faryn’s apartment.
“Good evening everybody,” Landon spoke as he leaned down and gave Faryn a soft peck on her lips.
“Hey boo.” Faryn smiled, happy that his timing was so perfect.
Harley and Kyron spoke back, but Jo-Jo just looked him up and down like he was an intruder.
“You done with the food?” Landon asked as he looked down at her.
“Almost. I’m going inside Harley. I’ll talk to you later,” Faryn said as she grabbed Landon’s hand and disappeared inside her apartment.
“What’s wrong?” Landon asked as soon as they were alone.
“I’m so happy that you came when you did,” Faryn said as he followed her to the kitchen.
“Why? What happened?” he questioned.
“You remember the dude Jo-Jo that I told you about? You know, the one who I used to mess with when I was younger? My first and all that stuff,” Faryn said, reminding him of one of their many conversations about her past.
“Yeah. What about him?” Landon asked.
“That was him out there. He’s one of Kyron’s old friends that he hasn’t seen in a while. I wish I wouldn’t have gone out there. Now, he knows where I live,” Faryn replied.
“Why you say that? You think he might try to do something to you?” Landon asked.
“No, nothing like that. He was always cool, but I just don’t want him thinking we’re anything like we used to be. I don’t want to be his friend or nothing like that.”
“Tell that nigga that you already got a friend,” Landon said, making her blush.
“Come taste the food,” Faryn said as she stirred her pot roast and put some gravy on a spoon. She let it cool off for a minute before she put it up to Landon’s mouth for him to taste.
“Put some more garlic power in it,” Landon advised.
“Okay, that’s all?” Faryn asked as she grabbed the garlic power from the cabinet.
“Salt too,” Landon replied.
Faryn seasoned her food some more until Landon gave it the green light. She whipped up some mashed potatoes and waited for the vegetables to steam. She and Landon talked the entire time until the food was done. Once they ate and cleaned up, Faryn flipped through some movies on Netflix until they settled on something that they wanted to watch. She and Landon cuddled on the sofa under a blanket, and Faryn was content.
“Are you staying over tonight?” she asked after they were quiet for a while.
