“Do you want me to?” Landon questioned.

“You ask me that all the time and my answer is always the same. Yes, I want you to stay,” Faryn laughed.

“I ask you to go out with me all the time and that answer is always the same too. I’m done asking though,” Landon replied.

“Landon-” Faryn started before he cut her off.

“No Faryn, fuck all that being nice stuff. I’m bout’ to start demanding some shit. The movie that you want to see is coming out in two weeks and we’re going,” Landon informed her.

“We are?” Faryn asked, trying to hide her smile.

“Yep. Lennox is going to the fair with his mama and Lance can go by my sister. We’re going to dinner and a movie and I’m not taking no for an answer. I feel like a damn teenager sneaking around to see his girlfriend. I don’t even know who we’re hiding from. This shit is dumb,” Landon argued.

“So, I’m your girlfriend now?” Faryn asked him.

“I don’t know. I’ll let you know how I feel about that after we have our first date. I gotta make sure you know how to act in public,” Landon joked.

“What if I want you to be my boyfriend?” Faryn asked as she looked at him.

“First off, I’m never gonna be your boyfriend. We’re not in high school. If anything, I’ll be your man,” Landon corrected.

“Okay, so what if I want you to be my man?” Faryn quizzed.

“Ask me then?” Landon smirked.

“Ask you what?” Faryn questioned.

“Ask me to be your man,” Landon replied.

“You can’t be serious,” Faryn said as she looked at him.

“Why not? Apparently, that’s what you want, so ask for it,” Landon replied.

“I guess I’ll be single for the rest of my life.” Faryn shrugged.

Being with Landon was indeed what she wanted, but she wanted him to make the first move. Faryn had never been the one to initiate a relationship and she didn’t want to start. Landon was being an ass, but she wasn’t going to give in.

“Alright, don’t be mad when somebody else snatch me up first,” he smirked.

“Don’t play with me, Landon. Are you trying to get cut?” Faryn asked him.

“Awe, hell no. I don’t think I want you anyway. I don’t do violent women,” Landon replied.

“Just shut up and watch the movie Landon,” Faryn pouted as she turned her back to him.

“Stop acting like a baby girl. You just better make sure your ass is ready for our date in two weeks,” Landon said.

“Stop acting like it’s our first. We’ve been dating for three months now,” Faryn said with a roll of her eyes.

“This ain’t no damn dates girl. All you do is feed me and kiss on me all day. Trying to get me fat and shit,” Landon replied while running a hand over his abs.

“You started kissing on me first,” Faryn said as she turned around and pressed her lips up to his.

Landon opened his mouth and welcomed the impromptu kiss and pulled her on top of him.Faryn’s heart was beating out of her chest, wondering just how far things were going to go. Landon could have stripped her and fucked her on the floor and she wouldn’t have stopped him. She didn’t have to wonder for long because the ringing of her phone killed the mood soon after. Since her phone was face up on her coffee table, they both looked down at the screen. Faryn wanted to scream when she saw Redd’s name pop up. She had blocked his other number, but he had been calling her from another phone. Faryn didn’t know what made her save the new number, since she barely answered for him anyway.

“Nah, you ain’t ready for me to be your man,” Landon said as he grabbed the remote and found something else to watch.

“You act like I answered the phone for him or something,” Faryn said while sitting up to look at him.
