Patrice grabbed her baby’s car seat and moved out of the way. Faryn stood up, ready to lay hands on Monica until Kyron and Harley pulled them both back.

“I’m sorry friend. You know I would never disrespect your house like this, but I’m tired of playing nice,” Faryn noted.

“It’s okay boo. Calm down and go wait for Landon,” Harley said, making Monica snap her head around to look at her.

That wasn’t a very common name and her ex brother-in-law was the only Landon that she knew. Monica prayed that he wasn’t messing with Faryn. Landon was too good for her, in Monica’s opinion. Besides, her sister was trying to get her family back and that would throw a wrench in her plans.

“Girl, yes, I need a drink,” Faryn replied, as Harley walked her to the door.

As soon as they walked out of Harley’s apartment, Faryn’s front door opened and Landon was walking out of hers.

“I was just about to knock on the door to see if you were over here. What’s up Harley?” Landon smiled.

“Hey Landon,” she spoke back.

“I just came over here to see Patrice’s baby, but I was about to lay hands on Harley’s ratchet ass friend,” Faryn said.

“What happened?” Landon asked.

“The bitch got a slick ass mouth that she needs to get punched in,” Faryn replied.

“Wait a second Faryn, let me call Patrice out right quick,” Harley said as she yelled inside for her cousin to come out and meet Landon.

Landon didn’t care that she was sweaty; he pulled Faryn close and leaned down to kiss her. She was giggling like a school girl until Monica’s ratchet voice interrupted their tender moment.

“What’s up brother-in-law?” Monica said with a smirk.

When Harley yelled for her cousin to come out, Monica beat her to the door to see for herself. She wanted to die when she saw that her suspicions were confirmed.

“Brother-in-law? Nah, you must have me confused with the next nigga,” Landon replied.

“Play dumb if you want to. You know exactly what I’m talking about,” Monica said, trying to make Faryn mad.

“Baby, this is my friend and Harley’s cousin, Patrice. Patrice, this is my boyfriend, Landon,” Faryn said while ignoring Monica and introducing Landon to Patrice.

“It’s nice to meet you, Landon. You must be very special. Faryn turned down every man who’s ever tried to get with her. You must be the one.” Patrice smiled while shaking his hand.

“I better be the one,” Landon replied while staring at Faryn.

“Don’t worry boo, you are.” Faryn smiled.

“How are my nephews Landon?” Monica asked, making sure that Faryn knew that she was connected to her man in some way.

It was childish as hell, but she really didn’t give a damn.

“Nephews?” Harley questioned.

“Yes, that’s my sister Malia’s ex-husband and my nephew’s father,” Monica smirked triumphantly now that the cat was out of the bag.

Faryn’s expression remained the same, but Harley wanted to jump for joy with happiness for her friend. If the stories that Monica told her about her sister’s ex-husband were true, Faryn had found herself a winner. She always said that she was waiting for the right man to come along, and Landon was the one. She couldn’t believe how all the dots were connecting. Landon might have been Malia’s trash, but he was a treasure to Faryn.

“I’ll wait for you inside baby. It was nice meeting you Patrice and nice to see you again Harley,” Landon said as he completely ignored Monica.

“Faryn, bitch, you hit a home run. You better not let his fine ass out of your sight,” Patrice said as soon as Landon closed the door.

“I don’t plan on it,” Faryn replied as she locked eyes with Monica and winked.

“Well, you go tend to your man and we’ll talk later,” Harley said.
