“Why can’t I just move to a different apartment?” Faryn questioned.
“Now ain’t the time for you to test me, Faryn. You must be crazy if you think you’re going back there after this shit just happened. I’m already pissed off, so you better be mindful of what you say to me right now. And unblock my damn number,” Landon fussed.
“What about my stuff?” Faryn asked as she removed his number from her block list.
“We’ll figure that out later Faryn. You just need to get all your clothes and personal stuff for now,” Landon replied as he pulled up to his house.
When he saw that Malia’s car was still parked out front, his frowned deepened even more.
“She must be out of her muthafucking mind,” Landon mumbled angrily.
He and Faryn got out of the car and was greeted by Lance’s angry face. He was sitting on the sofa watching tv, but he perked up a little when he saw that Faryn had come back. He stood up and walked over to them, but Landon stopped him before he could say anything.
“Both of y’all sit down. We need to have a family meeting,” Landon ordered, sounding like his grandmother. Ella was forever calling a family meeting whenever she felt like something was wrong.
“Excuse me?” Faryn questioned with her hand on her hip.
Landon was talking to her like she was one of his kids and she wasn’t feeling that. When he turned around and gave her a look, Faryn and Lance sat down at the exact same time. Landon took the steps two at a time to get upstairs. He checked his bedroom first, just in case Malia was bold enough to be in there. Once he saw that she wasn’t, he checked the hallway bathroom and one of the other spare bedrooms. He heard voices coming from Lennox’s bedroom, so he made his way there next. When he opened the door, he saw Malia sitting comfortably on one of his son’s bean bags. She had her shoes off and she seemed nice and comfortable. Too bad Landon was about to cut her stay short.
“Go downstairs in the front room with your brother and Faryn,” Landon said to Lennox.
He knew not to question his father, so he jumped up did as he was told.
“Landon, I can explain. We need to talk,” Malia said.
“We don’t have shit to talk about. Put your shoes back on and get the fuck up out of my house,” Landon snapped.
“Landon wait, please, just listen to me. Didn’t you see how happy our son was just now? They want their family back together. I’m sorry about breaking us up in the first place,” Malia replied.
“Man, Malia, I’m trying not to drag you down those stairs and pull an uncle Phil on your stupid ass,” Landon said, referring to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air when Jazz always got thrown out the front door.
“This was supposed to be the home that we grow old in,” Malia noted.
“Yeah, until you decided that a six-month affair was worth more than that,” Landon reminded her as he grabbed her arm.
He picked up her shoes and purse from the floor and led her down the stairs. He didn’t have time to keep going back and forth with her, and he wasn’t.
“I’m so sorry about that Landon. If I could take it all back, I would. You and my children mean the world to me.”
“Yeah, and I’m sure you figured that out after that nigga dogged your stupid ass. Fuck out my face with that dumb shit!” Landon barked.
“Are you really gonna do this is front of our sons?” Malia asked as they got to the living room where her sons and Faryn were seated.
“As if they give a fuck,” Landon replied as he continued to the front door. He honestly hated to do that in front of his sons, but Malia left him no choice.
“That bitch ain’t their mama. You got that hoe around my kids and I don’t even know her,” Malia fumed, as Landon walked her out of the house and up to her car.
“Let this be your warning. The next time you pull some shit like this, your sons will be seeing more than just you getting thrown out. I’ve always tried to be cordial with you for the sake of our kids and I want that to continue. Don’t fuck with me, Malia. You, of all people, know that it won’t be pretty. Get it through your head once and for all, I don’t want you back and I never will. I would be a damn fool to let a snake bite me twice,” Landon sneered as he threw her purse and shoes at her.
Malia wanted to protest, but it was a lost cause. Landon’s mind was made up and it didn’t seem like he was going to change it. She had to let him calm down, but she still wanted to have a talk with him. After all the years that they’d been together, he had to still have love for her. There was no way that he couldn’t. She’d given him two beautiful sons and that had to count for something. Malia could admit that she went about it wrong. She had to give Landon time to come around and that was exactly what she was going to do. After getting into her car, she pulled away from the home that should have been hers and headed back to her barely furnished apartment. Landon walked back into the house and started going off as soon as he did.
“Let me clear this up right now, so we won’t have any more problems. Your mother is not moving in here. Not now, not ever. Faryn and I are still together, and we are not breaking up. And since neither one of you have a car, I’m not giving y’all the code to the gate anymore. If somebody is dropping you off, Faryn or I will buzz you in,” Landon said.
“I’m sorry dad, but my mama said that you said it was okay,” Lennox replied sadly.
“I’m not mad at you, Lennox. You’re a child and your mama shouldn’t have done that. But, from now on, I need y’all to come to me if y’all want to know anything. Don’t listen to what nobody else says. If it didn’t come from me, then it’s a lie,” Landon said as he looked at Faryn to make sure she understood what he was saying.
“Okay,” his sons said, happy that he had cleared everything up.
“Y’all go upstairs and take a shower,” Landon ordered his sons.
They jumped up and walked upstairs to their bedrooms.
“I need a drink,” Faryn said as she got up and headed to the kitchen where she kept her wine.
“Get the bottle and bring it to the bedroom. You got a lot of making up to do,” Landon said as he winked at her.
She smiled as she grabbed a bottle of wine from the fridge and two champagne glasses. Landon didn’t do wine, so she grabbed his bottle of Cîroc and headed to the bedroom to wait for her man.
