Chapter 21
“I’m so fucking mad right now,” Harley fumed as she and Faryn talked on the phone two days later.
Harley had called to tell her how Kyron had found Jo-Jo passed out in the hall right in front of their house. His friend had gone outside to smoke, and he was trying to see what was taking him so long. What he didn’t expect to see was his friend’s bloody, battered body instead. Kyron didn’t know if he’d been shot or stabbed, so he called an ambulance, instead of bringing him to the hospital himself. When Faryn told them what happened, Harley was pissed and Kyron felt like shit. They were her best friends, so Faryn told them all about her past and how she knew Jo-Jo. They weren’t judgmental, and she appreciated that more than anything.
“Faryn, I’m so sorry baby girl. You know I would have never let that nigga nowhere near you or my wife if I knew he was living foul like that,” Kyron swore, letting Faryn know that she was on speakerphone.
“It’s okay Kyron. You didn’t know that he was a psycho. It’s not your fault,” Faryn replied.
“No, it’s not okay and it is his fault. I kept telling him about brining all those shady ass niggas to our house,” Harley fussed.
“Baby, I said that I was sorry. I promise that it won’t happen again,” Kyron said.
“You damn right it won’t because I don’t want none of their asses at our new house and I mean that shit. This is the second time that one of your so-called friends did some dumb shit,” Harley fumed.
“You’re right, baby, and I can’t even argue with you. I’ll be good with just my brothers and my cousins,” Kyron replied.
“You better be, with your over friendly ass,” Harley said, making Faryn laugh.
“Well, Landon has banned me from coming back over there, even though he paid the lease out this morning. If y’all want anything out of there for the new house, you’re welcome to have it,” Faryn offered.
Harley was moving into a four bedroom, so she could probably use some extras for the other rooms. Most of her furniture was only a year old and still looked brand new. Faryn lived alone, so there was no one there to tear it up.
“Bitch, are you serious? You got some bad ass furniture in there,” Harley pointed out.
“Yeah, but I don’t have anywhere to put it unless I get a storage,” Faryn noted.
“I can definitely use another bedroom set for one of the spare rooms. And your living room furniture would look great in the sitting room,” Harley said excitedly.
“It’s all yours honey,” Faryn replied.
“We can pay you for it Faryn. I wouldn’t feel right just taking your stuff like that,” Kyron said.
“Hell no, Kyron. Before I met Landon, y’all were the only family that I had. Landon and his uncle and cousin are getting my clothes and stuff out one day this week. Y’all can have everything else. Harley, you have a key whenever you want to get it,” Faryn replied.
“Thanks, Faryn. I appreciate it,” Harley said.
“Anytime friend.” Faryn smiled.
“Man, but that nigga Landon is the truth. I didn’t know he got down like that,” Kyron chuckled.
“What do you mean?” Faryn asked.
“He fucked Jo-Jo up bad. Nigga jaw is wired shut and everything,” Kyron informed her.
“Oh, my God! Are you serious?” Faryn asked.
“Yeah, man, that nigga is fucked all the way up. He got knots all on his face and shit. Ain’t no doubt about who won the fight,” Kyron laughed.
“It wasn’t really a fight. I don’t even remember Jo-Jo getting any licks in,” Faryn admitted.
“Yeah and it shows,” Kyron laughed again.
“Faryn got herself an undercover bad boy,” Harley joked.
“He’s so sweet, though. That was my first time ever seeing that side of him,” Faryn acknowledged.
“Girl, but the way you say he escorted his ex-wife out was hilarious. The nerve of that bitch,” Harley said.
