“I don’t care about a baby shower. Besides my sister and Harley, I don’t have anyone else to invite. I don’t want to do that to your sister though. She really wants to do this. Maybe we can convince her to do something small,” Faryn suggested.
“Let me call her anyway. She’s gonna be shocked as hell,” Landon laughed.
“You think your grandma knew?” Faryn asked.
“I don’t know,” Landon replied, right as Makena’s voice came through over the speakers of his car.
“Is it true?” she yelled in excitement.
“Is what true?” Landon questioned.
“Are we having twins?” Makena asked, making Landon and Faryn look at each other in shock.
“A boy and a girl,” Landon confirmed.
“I knew it! Didn’t I tell you?” Ella screamed in the background.
“How do you be knowing that stuff grandma?” Landon questioned in confusion.
“I can’t explain it baby. It’s my gift from God. I told y’all that one of my grandbabies was going to have twins. I had a set and so did my grandmother. It skipped a generation with my mama and my kids, but I knew it was gonna hit one of y’all,” Ella said, like it was a conspiracy theory.
“Damn man. I’m happy, but why couldn’t it have hit Aiden? Then, it would have skipped me and my girl,” Landon joked.
“That disease infested dick probably can’t even make no babies,” Ella said, making them laugh.
“That’s not how it works anyway. The twin gene can’t come from the father’s side. Only the mother’s genetics matter,” Makena informed them.
“My mama was a twin to a boy. He got killed in a car accident when I was little though,” Faryn admitted.
“Damn. You never told me that,” Landon said while looking over at her.
“I was only about four or five when it happened, so I don’t really remember him. My mama and my grandmother used to talk about him all the time and I saw the pictures that they had around the house,” Faryn replied.
“Yep, so that explains it. I’m so excited! We get two for the price of one!” Makena yelled.
“Wait until y’all tell the boys. They are going to go crazy for sure,” Ella replied.
“I’m getting my junior this time. Lance was supposed to be my namesake until Malia came with her bullshit. I don’t know why I let her talk me out of it,” Landon said.
“What do you mean? What did she talk you out of?” Faryn asked.
“I wanted to name Lance after me, but she came with some bullshit about wanting them to have their own identity. I don’t know why I fell for that shit,” Landon fussed.
“I don’t know why either. Lil bossy bitch know she should have named your first son after you,” Ella argued.
“Well, you can have your junior this time. You can pick the names if you want to,” Faryn said, making him smile.
“That’s so sweet of you, Faryn,” Ella said.
“My baby is sweet,” Landon said while leaning over to plant a kiss on her lips.
“Okay, I need to call my girl, so she can get started on the baby shower,” Makena spoke up.
“That’s what we were calling for too. We didn’t really want you to do nothing too big for the shower Makena,” Landon informed her.
“That’s not for y’all to decide. This is a shower for the babies. This is their first party and we’re doing it big,” Ella argued.
“She’s not even going full-term. The doctor said that twins don’t go all the way to nine months,” Landon noted.
