“Yeah, I am. I’m sorry about your job baby, but you know I got you,” Landon promised her.
“I appreciate that Landon, but I don’t want you to have me. I shook my ass in a club for four years to get my degrees. I’m not letting them sit on the wall and collect dust.”
“I understand that Faryn and I respect it. If you feel like that, open your own business. Your clients love you, so they’ll follow you wherever you go. You have the certifications to make it happen. All you’ll need is a building and I can help you with that,” Landon replied.
“Seriously? You think I should?” Faryn asked.
“Why not? Be your own boss, so you don’t have to answer to nobody else,” Landon answered.
“Them bitches had me work all day up until five before they hit me with this bullshit. I wish they would have said something earlier, so I could have gone home and taken a nap,” Faryn fussed, making Landon laugh.
“What I wanna know is how they found out about the shit. That ain’t something that they would have known without being told. Nobody there knows who I am.”
“That’s the same thing I said. You think your ex-wife had something to do with it?” Faryn asked.
“I’m leaning more towards Kane’s weak ass. That nigga ain’t been to work in a minute, but I don’t put nothing pass him.”
“He doesn’t know anything about me though,” Faryn pointed out.
Besides her phone number, Kane had no other info on her. Faryn ended up changing her number too because he started sending her all kinds of crazy text messages since the incident at Ella’s house. Landon wanted to beat his ass, but she begged him to leave it alone. Not many people had her number, so changing it was no big deal.
“It’s not that hard to find out. He’s married to my auntie,” Landon reminded her as he pulled up to his grandmother’s house to get his sons.
He and Faryn couldn’t wait for them to find out about the babies. He knew that they were going to be excited about getting two babies instead of one.
“Tell Ms. Ella that I said hello. I’m too lazy to get out,” Faryn said when he got out of the car.
Landon was gone for about five minutes before he and the boys came back out and they were on their way once again.
“What did the doctor say? Are we having a sister or a brother?” Lennox asked.
“What do you want it to be?” Faryn asked.
“I want a brother,” Lennox replied.
“Dummy, you got me. We need a sister now. I want it to be a girl,” Lance butted in.
“What is it? A boy or a girl?” Lennox questioned.
“Both. We’re having twins. A boy and a girl,” Landon answered.
“Like auntie Ava and uncle Aiden?” Lennox asked.
“Yes,” Faryn replied.
“So, we get two babies?” Lance asked them.
“Yes, a boy and a girl,” Faryn reiterated.
“That’s a lot of crying,” Lance said, shaking his head at the thought.
“That’s what big brothers are for. Y’all are gonna help us, right?” Faryn inquired.
“I’m gonna help you, Faryn,” Lennox said.
“I’ll help too, but I don’t know how to change diapers,” Lance said, making them laugh.
“We’ll take care of that part. Do y’all have homework?” Landon asked.
