“Yes,” they both answered at the same time.

“Anybody need help?” Faryn questioned.

“No,” they both answered in chorus again.

“Dad, can we order pizza and wings tonight?” Lennox asked.

“Yes,” Faryn answered before Landon could say anything.

He knew that she didn’t feel like cooking, so whatever they wanted was fine. When they pulled up to the gate of their home, the security guard was out front speaking to a sheriff’s officer. When Landon entered the resident’s side of the gate, he saw the guard pointing his way before beckoning for him to come over. Leaving the car running, Landon jumped out and jogged over to where they were.

“Landon Reynolds?” the officer said as soon as he got close to them.

“Yes,” Landon replied in confusion.

“You’ve been served. Have a good day,” the officer said as he handed him a thick packet in a gold colored envelope and walked away.

“I’m sorry Mr. Reynolds. I didn’t know what that was about,” the security guard said.

“Nah, it’s cool. I don’t know what this is about either, but I guess I’ll find out soon.” Landon shrugged.

“What did he want with you? What’s that?” Faryn asked when he got back into the car.

“I have no idea,” Landon replied.

When they got into the house, his sons went straight to their rooms to do their homework like they always did. Faryn was anxious to see what was in the envelope that Landon had, so he tore it open to ease her mind.

“Man, this is some bullshit,” he said as he laughed out loud.

He gave the papers to Faryn for her to read over, but she didn’t find anything funny. Malia was asking for joint custody of the boys and she didn’t find the humor in that. She wanted them to stay with her every other month, which equated to six months of the year.

“This is not funny Landon. Why is she doing this?” Faryn asked as her eyes filled up with tears.

Faryn missed them like crazy when they went by Malia for a week. That was their mother, so she was happy that they were spending time with her though.

“I’m not worried about that shit. She got her mama listed as a character witness. She already lost the case,” Landon laughed as he locked their bedroom door.

“And then she wants child support for the time that she has them. This is crazy,” Faryn argued.

“That’s what this is all about. She needs money,” Landon said as he started removing Faryn’s clothes.

“Baby, stop. This is serious and you act like you don’t care.”

“I don’t care. She let that nigga Kane get in her head,” Landon replied while removing his own clothes.

“How do you know that?” Faryn asked, as Landon laid her down and climbed on top of her.

“Look at the name at the top of the documents. Carmen Monroe is Kane’s mama. His mama and daddy are both attorneys who practice criminal and family law,” Landon informed her as he slid inside of her and moaned.

“I can’t believe that you’re worried about sex at a time like this,” Faryn argued.

“I’m always worried about sex. Now, hurry up before they finish and come knocking,” Landon replied as he flipped her over so that she was on top.

Malia and her bullshit custody papers were the furthest thing from his mind. He didn’t know how she’d hooked up with his newest enemy and he didn’t care. Kane was a hoe and Landon knew that from the first day they met. Kane was being punked by a dude from another fraternity and Landon had to came to his rescue. He tried to get Landon to join the Alphas, but he wasn’t interested. Kane was always on some catch back shit like a lil bitch and Malia was dumb enough to fall for it. Landon planned to give her a call later, but nothing was more important that what he was doing at that moment. All the other bullshit would just have to wait until he was done.
