He made it a point to let Landon and Aiden know that he wasn’t speaking to them, as if they gave a fuck. He was petty just like a lot of females.
“Lil pussy ass!” Aiden barked loudly.
“Don’t start Aiden. We didn’t come here for all that,” Ava replied.
“You better make that nigga strap up Ava. Them hoes in the project gon’ give his ass some shit that he can’t get rid of,” Aiden warned.
“Fuck you, Aiden, bruh. You don’t have room to talk about nobody catching nothing,” Kane said angrily.
He was tired of Aiden thinking that he was punking him, especially in front of his wife. Landon had to grab Aiden before he could make it up the stairs and get to Kane.
“Calm down man. You already know grandma ain’t feeling that shit today. Let his ass make it,” Landon said.
“Fuck that nigga. Lil bitch, I see your tampon string hanging out your pussy,” Aiden taunted, as Kane and Ava walked into the house.
Kane was furious and he couldn’t even hide it. Ava gave him a look that could kill, but he wasn’t in the mood for her shit either. He already knew that she was pissed about what her brother said about him being with other women. Kane loved his wife, but he was ready to put a bullet in her twin’s head. There was only so much that a man could take before he snapped.
Once he got Aiden calm, Landon was ready to go. He’d stayed longer than he thought he would and he was tired. He went into the house to let his sister and grandma know that he was about to leave. Of course, leaving was harder than he thought it would be. Everybody kept stopping him to talk and, before he knew it, another hour had passed. Faryn and her sister had gone out to eat with Harley and Akira was going to bring her home afterwards. Landon was happy that Faryn at least had one family member to spend time with and she seemed to be just as excited.
“Here Landon,” Makena said, handing him a bag with some containers inside.
“What’s this?” he asked.
“Faryn told me to fix her some food,” Makena replied.
“Her greedy ass. She’s out eating right now,” Landon laughed.
“How far along is she?” a familiar voice asked.
Landon looked over and saw that his mother had occupied the chair right next to his at the table.
“Six months,” he replied flatly.
“Wow. Twins, huh?” Robin asked.
“Yep,” Landon answered.
“That’ll make five grandkids for me once they arrive. I can’t wait to meet them.” Robin smiled.
“Alright sis. I’m about to get going,” Landon said while standing to his feet.
“Okay, let me walk you out,” Makena offered.
She and Landon maneuvered through the crowd in the living room and made their way to the porch.
“The fuck was that about? Since when does she give a fuck about what’s going on with us? Hell, I got two kids that barely know her, but she can’t wait to meet the ones that’s not even here yet,” Landon ranted.
“That’s what’s it’s all about lil brother,” Makena said as she pointed across the street to Leroy’s house.
“Oh shit. I didn’t even pay attention to that,” Landon said as he and Makena laughed.
There was a huge for sale sign outside of the house that he didn’t even notice before.
“Ole Leroy was barely in the ground before his kids called the realtor. They let mommy dearest know just how much clout the live-in girlfriend has. She can’t say shit and she can’t get shit,” Makena chuckled.
“Oh okay. That’s why she’s so full of conversation now, but I ain’t got nothing for her. The same people that she put us down for is fucking over her.”
“Karma has no menu. You get served what you deserve.” Makena shrugged.
“And that’s some real shit,” Landon said as he called his boys and walked to his truck.
He took another look at the for-sale sign in front of the house and shook his head. He remembered how he and Makena would be sitting on the porch and their mother would wave to them as if they were just her neighbors and not her own kids. She never uttered a word, but she was full of conversation now. Too bad Landon had none to give. The same family that she put before her own had come back and kicked her in the ass. Landon didn’t wish bad on anyone, but Robin asked for it.
The same with Malia. She was getting her karma too, for how she had abandoned her family. Now, she was in her feelings because Landon was building a life with Faryn. He tried to do the right thing and get them to meet face to face, but Malia declined. She claimed that she didn’t want to meet the woman who was trying to replace her. She swore that Faryn was trying to turn her kids against her, but that was untrue. It was because of Faryn that Lance was even going around her again. She might not have had her office anymore, but she still acted as his counselor. Lance had made tremendous progress and Malia couldn’t take credit for any of it.
