“Bitch! Don’t put your muthafucking hands on my friend!” Harley yelled as she grabbed Malia’s thin body and slung her to the ground.

Malia was never much of a fighter, but she jumped up and starting swinging on Harley anyway. She wasn’t scary and she wasn’t about to act like she was. She couldn’t believe what was happening and on her off day at that. She only went to her job to get her mother something to eat, when she saw Roman and Faryn embracing. The smile that covered his face was like nothing that Malia had ever seen. He looked genuinely happy and that had her seeing red. Not only had that bitch taken her husband, but she was trying to take her man too. Malia didn’t think before she reacted, which was why she was getting her ass kissed by Faryn’s friend now.

“The fuck is going on in here?” Chad asked when he walked in and saw the chaos that was taking place.

People were leaving the restaurant without their food and, now, he knew why. He saw some dude holding Malia’s ex-husband back, while some girl was beating Malia’s ass. Roman was standing there shielding a pregnant woman, but Chad couldn’t see her face.

“Baby, calm down. I don’t need to be bailing you out of jail,” Kyron said as he pulled Harley off the woman that he’d never seen before.

Since Landon was no longer being held back, he rushed over to Faryn and pulled her away from Roman. He didn’t know what was going on, but he was damn sure about to find out.

“Fuck you, Roman! Your dog ass lied and said you were out of town!” Malia screamed as she used her sleeve to wipe the blood from her mouth.

She had just called Roman a few minutes before she got to the restaurant and he said that he was out of town handling business for a few days. Malia heard all the noise in the background, but she would have never guessed that he was at her job. Roman didn’t know where she worked, so he would have been busted had she been at work that day anyway.

“This bitch here,” Chad said as he looked at her and scowled.

“Fuck you too, Chad! Nigga made me get rid of our baby, only to get the next bitch pregnant. And I hope you don’t think that’s your baby, Roman. That bitch ain’t nothing but a prostitute!” Malia shouted.

“Bitch! You better not ever fix your lips to say some shit like that about my little sister again!” Roman gritted as he walked up on her. Chad stopped him from getting too close because he knew how Roman’s temper was.

“Sister!” Landon yelled as he looked at Roman in confusion. Malia looked confused as well because she didn’t know that he had any other family besides Chad.

“Faryn?” Chad questioned once he got a good look at her.

Faryn had tears falling from her eyes as she moved away from Landon and went to give Chad a hug.

“I missed y’all so much,” Faryn sobbed.

“We missed you too, baby. When did this happen?” Chad smiled as he held Faryn close and rubbed her swollen belly.

“Seven months ago,” Faryn chuckled.

“Man, I’m so damn happy to see my baby,” Roman said as he walked over and kissed her cheek.

Faryn always did have a special place in his heart, but the circumstances of how they were raised was the problem. Being born to a drug-addicted mother was hard on them all. Roman and Chad tried their best to keep up with their sisters, but it was hard. They were young boys out there trying to make money and they succeeded for a while. Roman used to bring his sisters money all the time, until their mother started stealing it. When that didn’t work, he started buying them what they needed, but Alicia used to sell everything. It got so bad that Roman would have to meet his sisters at the gas station close to their house and let them change into their new clothes in the bathroom. Chad always made sure to take them out to eat before they went back home, and that worked out fine for a while.

Then, just like always, their good thing came to an end. Both brothers went to jail, and their sisters had to fend for themselves once again. Akira was the oldest, so she left soon after that. She found herself a sugar daddy and moved in with him. She kept up with Faryn for a while, but that didn’t last very long. When their mother died, Roman got released from jail a few days later. The first thing he did was go get Faryn and move her in with him and the girl that he was living with. Chad got released soon after and they were back on their grind in no time at all.

The long arm of the law reached out and touched them a few years later and both brothers were locked up once again. When Roman called one day to check on his sister, his ex informed him that she had moved out and she didn’t know where. He didn’t have a number or an address and he didn’t know where to look once he was released. The only two women to ever hold a place in his heart and he didn’t even know how to find them.

“Out! Everybody get out before I call the police. The place is closed for the night!” the owner, Melba, came out and yelled, breaking up the impromptu family reunion.

She gave Malia a wet rag for her face and ushered her back into the kitchen. Malia was so embarrassed for her employer to see her behaving that way, and she knew that Cora was going to hear all about it.

Two men came from the back and started clearing out the restaurant. They never did pay for their food, but Harley went to grab her and Faryn’s purses before they all walked outside. Landon looked as confused as ever and he wasn’t the only one. Roman and Chad were both wondering why their baby sister was with Malia’s ex. They all walked outside of the restaurant, hoping to get answers to the questions that lingered between them.
