“I made some barbecue shrimp and garlic bread. It’s still warm and on the stove.”

“Preciate it but I’m full. I’ll eat it tomorrow.”

Barbecue shrimp was the best thing that she cooked and one of his favorites. He didn’t know what had gotten into her but he was being honest. He really did appreciate the gesture. Although it was a step in the right direction, it was too late for them in his opinion.

Blaze grabbed some clothes and headed for the shower. He stood under the warm water and washed the stress of the day away. He had a lot on his plate for the next few days and getting with his weed supplier was right at the top. He had been out for a few days and niggas were feigning for it. His grandmother had been having a lot of appointments lately, so everything else had to take a back seat. He planned to get with him after the tournament since he was sure that he would be there just likeeverybody else. He really wanted Remi to be there and he didn’t care that his wife was gonna be in the crowd. Reanna, just like everybody else in the hood, looked at the tournament as a fashion show. More than likely, she was gonna have her ass out, calling attention to herself as usual.

After feeling a little more relaxed, thanks to the hot water, Blaze washed up and got out of the shower. He put his clothes on and walked back into the bedroom, surprised to see Reanna now posted up in the bed. That was rare and they usually took turns sleeping in the spare bedroom. Reanna usually wasn’t in bed so early, so she must have been tired. Since she got in the bed first, Blaze grabbed his phone and prepared to go sleep in the other room.

“Can we talk for a minute Blaze?” Reanna sat up and looked at him with hopeful eyes. Usually, he would be quick to decline but he was curious as to what she had to say.

“Yeah, what’s good?” He walked closer to the bed, awaiting a response.

Instead of saying anything, Reanna crawled over to where he was. She reached her petite hands into his shorts and boxers and pulled out his flaccid erection. At one time, his shit got hard just by looking at her. Now, she had to work overtime, stroking and running her tongue along the length to get his shit up.

Blaze couldn’t even front, he wasn’t trying to fuck Reanna because that would mean she would have to get naked. He wasn’t opposed to her slobbing on his knob though. That was better than jacking himself off in the shower ever other night.

“Umm, I see that he missed me just as much as I missed him,” Reanna moaned right before she took him to the back of her throat.

Blaze hissed and grabbed the back of her head. Just as he was getting into it, his phone rang, displaying the picture of Remi that she’d sent to him a few weeks ago. He didn’t actually think she would call him back until the following day but he was happy as hell that she did. Reanna was going to work on his dick, but he had to stop her. She was slowly becoming his past and he was trying to make Remi his future.

“Hol’ up, I gotta get that.” Blaze gently pushed her away and pulled up his pants.

“Are you fucking serious right now Blaze? A phone call is more important than being intimate with your wife!”

Admittedly, Reanna felt like a damn fool for even putting herself out there like that. She was horny as fuck, and Ferris was playing games and had disappeared once again. Reanna went to his granny’s house and was excited to see his car parked out front. She was cool with his cousin, Kela, so it wasn’t weird that she popped up over there. She didn’t know what was going on but they swore that Ferris wasn’t there, even though his car was. She knew that something was up because Shiva was laughing the entire time. Her brother was up to something and she obviously knew what it was. Reanna hated that lil bitch but she treaded lightly when Ferris was around. He loved her spoiled ass to death and he was more of the parent than their mother was.

Kela swore that he wasn’t there too and Reanna didn’t know what to believe. Ferris had his phone on do not disturb, so her calls and text weren’t even going through. She needed some dick, which was why she tried to seduce her husband. She was in her feelings that Blaze would rather take a phone call than be intimate with her, and that was an immediate red flag.

She was starting to wonder if he was out there having an affair of his own. It was cool if he was. That would be all the ammunition that she needed to divorce his ass. She knew without a doubt that her and Ferris would be together if she wasn’t married. He always told her that she couldn’t question his moves since she had a husband at home, and he was absolutely right. It was all good though because she knew that he was gonna be at the basketball tournament and so was she.

“I’ll be right back,” Blaze promised, pulling her away from her thoughts. It was a lie but it was the only thing he could think to say at the moment.

“Fuck you, Blaze!” Reanna yelled to his departing back.

Blaze ignored her as he rushed off into the other bedroom and locked the door behind him. “What’s good, beautiful?”

He laid in the bed with a huge smile covering his face, not knowing that Remi was smiling just as hard. Mav had come through and did what needed to be done, and she was feeling relaxed. He tried to stay a little longer, but she wasn’t having it. She wanted to call Blaze back before it got too late and she was happy that he was still up.

“That’s what I’m calling to find out handsome?”

“Aye, you know we’re already having an affair, right?” Blaze inquired.

“What? You are so random Blaze. Where the hell did that statement even come from?” Remi chuckled softly.

“You might not agree but it’s true though.”

“Please do enlighten me as to how. We never even kissed.”

“An emotional affair, love. How do you think people fall in love with muthafuckers that they never even met? They form an emotional bond just by talking all the time.”

“I guess I never really looked at it that way.”

“Most people don’t.”

Remi sat there and listened, as he broke it down to her like it was science. He made some very valid points, and Remi had to agree with some of them. Blaze was smart as fuck and that was a big turn on for her. He was the full package with a little hood swagger to go along with it all. Remi never admitted it to him but she was feeling Blaze just as much as he was feeling her. As much as she wanted to, she couldn’t get herself caught up with a married man. The risk was too great and, in her opinion, not worth it.

Blaze got his wish, and Remi ended up going to the game after all. Tracy’s man and Ferris were playing, and she and Monique both wanted to be there to support them. It was cool with her because she wanted to go see some of the skills that Blaze swore he had. He was always bragging about how nice he was on the court, but she wanted to see for herself. She’d seen videos but being there to witness it was even better.
