“You can’t be serious right now.” Reanna couldn’t believe that he was calling her like shit was sweet.

“Man, look, you can kill that lil attitude you trying to have. The fuck was you even thinking, Reanna? You and your nigga might be separated and shit, but y’all are still married. That wasn’t a good look. You gotta be smart about some shit.”

Reanna was ready to go off until she thought about what he said. As angry as she was, she had to admit that he was right. Blaze was still paying all the bills so that was indeed a stupid move on her part.

“Maybe that was a stupid move but I don’t appreciate the way you handled me in front of my sister.”

“I apologize for that but the shit caught me off guard.” Ferris didn’t know that was her sister but the resemblance made sense to him now.

“How do you plan to make it up to me?” Reanna smiled, hoping that he said something that she wanted to hear. She would ditch her plans with Blaire in a heartbeat if Ferris wanted her to come over.

“I gotta take a raincheck on that sweetheart. I’m outchea trying to get this money. I need you though, baby. You got some more of that good shit?”

“Depends?” She was kinda down about not being able to see him.

“On what?” Ferris frowned, even though she couldn’t see him.

“What you gon’ do for me?” Reanna flirted.

“You know I got you, baby.”

Ferris wanted to gag at just the thought of having to see her naked again. He had just closed on his first piece of rental property and he was excited. He was in the process of making plans to have the duplex renovated and he hoped to have another one soon. His money was lovely and, soon, he wasn’t even gonna need Reanna. That was the best part of it all.

“Okay, well, I got you when you get me. When are you gonna be free?”

“I don’t know but I’ll call you later so we can discuss it.”

“Cool, I’ll be waiting,” Reanna replied before she hung up the phone and headed towards Blaire’s apartment.

Blaze was in the kitchen hooking up a meal while Remi kept his grandmother company in the sitting room. Since the first time he went to her house, he and Remi became inseparable. They didn’t put a title on what they had and they didn’t have to. She was his and he made it known to anybody who asked. Reanna tried calling him a few times, but he didn’t know why. She did her part by signing the papers, and he was counting down the days until it was final.

An entire week had passed since everything happened at the tournament and the gossip had finally died down. The entire hood was talking about how Blaze and Mav fought over Remi. He really felt bad for Kiva because she didn’t deserve to be embarrassed like that. She didn’t even try to check on Mav. Blazesaw when she grabbed her son and followed the crowd out of the building.

“Are you almost done?” Remi asked when she walked into the kitchen.

“Go sit your hungry ass down somewhere. This is your third time asking me that. You should have cooked the food yourself.”

“Boy, you must not be trying to see tomorrow.” Remi knew how to cook the basics but she was no Gordon Ramsay. Blaze learned from his grandmother and that wasn’t hard to see. He did everything from scratch the old fashioned way.

“Don’t worry about nothing baby, your man can burn.”

“My man?” Remi asked with raised brows.

“That’s what I said. Shit, the whole hood is already saying that we’re together. We can’t disappoint our fans.”

“My granny wants to meet you. Well, my mama and Mae do too.”

Between Ferris and Tracy, everybody knew about her messing with Blaze and they were begging to meet him. Aside from Mav, Remi had never introduced another man to her family. She had a few flings over the years but it was never that deep to bring anybody to meet her family. She dedicated so many years to caring for her father that having a life of her own took a back seat. Her family was happy to see that she was finally living again.

“Yeah? That’s it baby, I’m in the family now.”

“Maybe, depends on how the meeting goes.”

“Come here and taste this.” Blaze put some food on a spoon and blew on it to cool it off before she tasted it.

“That taste so good.” Remi closed her eyes and savored the flavor of the seafood smothered okra that he’d just cooked.

“It don’t taste better than you, though.” Blaze winked before he kissed her lips. He tried to deepen the kiss while grabbing a handful of Remi’s ass.
