“Man, I’m trying to get it right. Nigga ain’t getting no younger and I’m ready to settle down and start a family. I’m damn sure not about to be with a bitch who I’m fucking behind her nigga’s back though. That hoe ain’t loyal to him, so I won’t stand a chance. And once she can’t help me out no more, I ain’t gon’ have no more use for her anyway with that mediocre ass pussy she be begging a nigga to hit. Bro, I swear, I hate when she get naked. I don’t know much about that BBL shit, but her legs ain’t even big enough for all that ass. She be looking off balance and crooked.”
“Damn boy, you wild as hell for that one but I feel you, fam. My girl said she looked good at first but she went back for more. She got a good nigga and still ain’t satisfied. Bitch better humble herself though. Them hoes be on her man dick hard like a muthafucker. That nigga is the one who be bringing in most of the customers.”
“What you mean? Your business be booming fam.”
“Yeah nigga, because of him. You know that nigga was a high school and college basketball all-star. He be coaching and shit now, so all them lil niggas come through the shop to get their hair cut. Some of the niggas that he played ball with and the coaches be coming through there too. That nigga know everybody in the sports world. The nigga sell his lil weed out the shop and shit, but he’s smart as fuck.”
If it was anybody else trying to sell weed out of his shop, Mav would have had a fit. He knew where the bulk of his customers came from so he was the only one who got a pass. He was also one of the only niggas in the shop who took refresher courses as often as he could. As a result, he knew how to add designs and all that other shit that their clients sometimes wanted.
“I don’t really know much about the nigga but he seems cool.” Ferris shrugged uncaringly. He wasn’t trying to beef with nobody over their bitch because it wasn’t that deep. He had a girl so he wasn’t really interested in nobody else’s. It just so happened that he needed something that she was able to provide and he did what he had to do to get it. Most times when he stepped out on his girl, it was for pleasure but it was more about business this time.
“I used to smash his sister a while ago. Dude is mad cool, but I hope he hurry up and find out that his wife ain’t shit.”
Mav had actually smashed Blaire a week ago but he had to keep shit like that to himself. Blaire was kinda like her sister-in-law with her sense of entitlement but not as bad. She knew that he had a girl because she used to be Kiva’s client before they started fucking.
“Nah, nigga, not right now. Let him keep thinking that hoe is a housewife until I get my money up a lil more.”
“I ain’t even mad at you, fam,” Mav replied right before they heard loud voices coming from the entrance of the building where Remi and Tracy were standing. Both men looked in the direction of the voices and saw Remi hugging two unfamiliar looking women.
“Damn! Who the fuck is that? Shorty is thick as fuck but in all the right places.” Ferris was in full lust mode as he watched his cousin interacting with the two women. He wouldn’t mind creeping with her and it would be all pleasure.
“Shit, only way to find out is to go see.” Mav was happy when he saw Ferris nod in agreement. He didn’t want to make it seem like it was his idea but he was happy to have a reason to be closer to Remi. He was even happier that he didn’t have to do it alone. He followed Ferris as he made his way over to his cousin.
“How you beautiful ladies doing today?” Ferris asked as he grabbed one of the women’s hand and brought it up to his mouth. Before his lips could make contact, Remi intervened.
“Nah nigga, not this one. You can keep it pushing.”
Remi yanked Monique’s hand out of his and stood in front of her. She wasn’t a hater but she wasn’t gonna knowingly let her girl get played if she could avoid it. Monique was looking for a husband, not a fuck buddy. Ferris was her favorite male cousin and she loved him beyond words. Unfortunately, he had a horrible track record with women. Monique and one of her cousins came down for the funeral but she didn’t see them. Remi was on the front row and the place was packed. They rented a car at the airport and went straight to the service. Once they left the graveyard, Monique and her cousin went to check into theirhotel room and change clothes before heading to the repast. Remi was happy to see them and she appreciated the support.
“I know you ain’t go to Arizona and become a hater,” Mav said while looking her up and down lustfully. Remi looked like a walking nut, and he was ready to bust one in her.
“Bye, Maverick. Slick ass only came over here with Ferris so your girl don’t get suspicious.”
He chuckled because Remi knew him too well. “I’m single sweetheart.” Mav regretted the words as soon as they came out of his mouth, but it was too late to take them back.
Ferris only smirked but he knew how to mind his business. He told Remi not to fuck with him at all when he came at her, but she didn’t listen. Remi was headstrong and did whatever she wanted to do. He was a man so he knew how the game was played.
“Maverick!” Monique yelled, remembering all the stories that Remi had told her about him during their frequent talks. Her girl failed to mention how fine the nigga was.
“Yeah, I’m Maverick. What you heard about me?”
Remi looked over at her friend with slanted eyes, silently warning her not to break the girl code.
“Nothing, that’s just a unique name. I know about the basketball team but I’ve never met anyone with the same name. I like it.” Monique was a quick thinker and she was happy that she didn’t disappoint her friend.
“Man, forget all that. I’m Ferris. And you are?”
“Off limits,” Remi replied before her friend could. Ferris kept his poker face on but he was getting pissed. Now, he wished like hell that Mav would keep Remi occupied while he got to know her girl.
“Damn, why your sis hating on my dude like that?” Mav walked over to Tracy as he asked the question.
“Remi is a grown woman. I’m sure she can speak for herself.”
Remi had his sneaky ass right. Mav had been watching her all night and he finally made his way over to her. He and Kiva hadn’t been around each other all day, so she didn’t know if they broke up or not. Tracy had her own relationship drama so she didn’t have time to entertain nobody else’s. She knew that her sis could handle herself in any situation. Mav should have steered clear of Remi though. Her girl had Mav’s mind gone a few years ago and it seemed as if time did nothing to change his feelings. Tracy knew without a doubt that Remi could handle herself, so she wasn’t worried about that.
“I sure can and I’m too real to hate. That ain’t even in my blood.”
Remi peeped how Ferris made his way over to Monique and started talking to her. Her girl was blushing hard so she knew that her cousin was spittin’ his usual bullshit. Monique’s cousin stepped away to give them some privacy and talk on her phone. Like she’d just told Mav, she was far from being a hater so she let them be. She was gonna put Monique up on game, but the rest was up to her. If she still chose to entertain Ferris, she was grown and that would be her decision. If they did hook up, she didn’t know how it was gonna work since they lived so far away from one another.
