“Stop being mean, Vincent,” Tracy replied, calling Vinnie by his real name. “We’re gonna be here for a while so we should get to know all of our neighbors.”
“I don’t give a fuck about knowing that they were the first gay couple to move on the block.”
“Is that what they told y’all?” Remi questioned.
“Yes, honey, and we make couple number twelve. They just wanted to say hello and welcome us to the gayberhood,” Tracy answered while holding up the bottle of wine that they received as a gift.
“Man,” Blaze drawled as they all laughed at Tracy’s comment. The shit that she thought of just rolled off of her tongue effortlessly.
“Y’all come on. We got everything set up on the deck out back.” Tracy led the way and they all followed her.
“Damn, Tracy, you got it looking like royalty up in here. Got a nigga scared to sit down or touch anything.” Blaze looked around in amazement. He and Remi had helped them move, but that was their first time seeing everything in place.
“That’s her gift and I always tell her so.” Remi looked around and admired her friend’s skills.
“Don’t worry, boo, I got you whenever y’all find a house.” Tracy led them out back where Vinnie had the grill heating up.
“I think we already found one but we might not need you.”
“Bitch, I know you better not be trying to pay nobody to do something that I can do for free.” Tracy was getting offended at the thought of Remi hiring a decorator.
“No, it’s nothing like that. The house that we want is fully furnished.”
Remi took a few minutes to tell them about the house and showed them some pictures and videos. She also told them about the unfortunate events that led to the house even being for sale.
“Oh, my God, Remedy! I have no words. This is beyond amazing.” Tracy’s jaw dropped when she looked at the six bedroom, five bathroom house that Remi was showing her. They had a room that was decorated in different shades of blue and she knew that Remi was sold then. She loved anything blue, cars included. The blue piano would probably never get played but it gave the room a rich, classy look. The football field sized backyard would be an asset for the family that they were already starting. The glass enclosed outdoor patio was fully furnished just like the rest of the house and it was huge. It was so big that it looked like another house and included a fridge, stove and sink. The endless pool and lake as a backdrop was breathtaking. Blaze loved the mancave with pool table, huge screen tv and dart board. The best part of it all was that they would be so close to her and Vinnie. There were so many things to love about it, and Tracy was praying that her friends got it.
“Damn, I know that gotta cost at least a cool mil or close to it.” Vinnie, just like Tracy, was in awe.
“I know I’m being nosey but I just gotta know. What’s the asking price?” Tracy questioned.
“That’s just it, we don’t know. It’s a private sale, so it’s not listed anywhere. He let us know before he did anything but he said he’ll give us a price below market value.”
Remi and Blaze were financially stable, even before the money that his Nana gave him. They weren’t too concerned about the price but they wanted to purchase it outright.
“Yeah, baby, we need to call and tell him that we’re interested,” Blaze said.
“Shit, I’m about to do that now.” Remi went back into the house to make the call in private.
“How have you been, Blaze? Is your family still being assholes?” Tracy asked when Remi left.
“I’m good despite everything that’s been going on. They been kinda quiet lately and I think that’s the best thing for them to do.”
“Yeah, bruh, they had you heated but I understand. Muthafuckas always wanna come around once all the hard work is done. Besides Tracy and my kids, I ain’t got nothing for nobody,” Vinnie spoke up.
“That’s why I’m happy that Remi and I are starting our own family. And, speaking of that, I might need your help with something, Tracy.” Blaze took a few minutes and told her what he’d been thinking about. Tracy was all smiles when Remi came back outside a few minutes later. Her face had a blank expression and they were all wondering why.
“What’s wrong, friend?” Tracy asked in concern. She was hoping that she didn’t get any bad news about the house. She was already looking forward to spending time over there.
“Nothing is wrong. I guess I’m just in shock.” Remi sat down next to Blaze.
“That price got you shook huh?” Vinnie laughed.
“Yeah but not in the way you think.”
“What’s up, baby? What did he say?” Blaze was on the edge of his seat waiting to hear the good or not so good news.
“He’s asking for four hundred.”
