Ugh!
But that was a good thing because now she could go back to hating him. Hmph.
Satisfied, relaxed, and quite irritated with herself—and with him, for leaving her out there in the water, a satiated jumble of confusion, longing, and a fresh dose of frustration—she’d fallen right to sleep, so she’d been deep in dreamland by the time he got out of the shower. Then, because Alexander was a complete asshole, he’d fallen right to sleep himself… promptly waking her up with his snoring.
She’d only debated smothering him with her pillow once.
Fine, twice.
And he’d been gone when she woke up this morning, which was also a relief. No, of course she hadn’t felt a pang of disappointment at his absence. Suggesting such a thing would be silly.
She figured he’d gotten an early start and was currently in one of the other villas, getting all the food prepped for the welcome lunch today. And, speaking ofwelcome, his absence was awelcomereprieve. She needed to think. She’d loathed him for so long that she hadn’t really allowed herself to acknowledge the way her body reacted to him.
Had it always been this way between them, or was her attraction to him something new?
Kelsey sighed. That thought was rhetorical.
Some small, infuriating part of her had always wanted Alexander Arroyo.
Maybe something was wrong with her. Why was she attracted to a man that made her so flustered all the time?
“Ugh,” she groaned. She knew what she had to do. She’d done it just last week with Jean-Luc. When a man was this far under her skin, she needed to get him underherso she could move the fuck on. Then she could go about her business like the professional that she was. She’d barely thought about Jean-Luc since last weekend because she. Got. Him. Out. Of. Her. System.
She’d have to do the same with Alexander.
Only, this wasn’t the place or the time, and Alexander wasn’t the type of guy to be on board.
She sighed, resigning herself to her fate.
What happened last night could not happen again—at least not while they were here to work. But,afterthis trip? Once the Harrington-Darcy wedding was a smashing success? Kelsey would have to convince Alexander that they needed to bang one out to get one another out of their systems.
It was the only way.
Unfortunately, knowing what she had to do was only half the battle because she also knew that would be an impossible task. Alexander wasn’t a fuck ‘em and chuck ‘em kind of guy. He’d always been in relationships, even as far back as middle school. Just one monogamoussnorefestafter another. She’d be hard-pressed to convince him to sleep with her so she could get him out of her system, although that was clearly what needed to happen.
But none of that mattered right now. Because she was a professional, dammit, and she had work to do. A back-and-forth monologue would solve nothing, so, with thoughts of Alexander’s fingers dancing in her head, she headed for the bedroom, praying an ice-cold shower would help. If nothing else, it might clear her mind a bit, and she had a ton of shit to do today, so she had to get going regardless of the turmoil she was in over two handsome, arrogant men.
She paused at the door to Nessa’s room, which was still closed. No sounds came from inside, so Ness and Lucky were likely still asleep.Must be nice. They slept peacefully while Kelsey worried herself into early onset gray hair. But, really, what did they have to worry about? Which one of them picked a cuter pet name for the other? Who got to be on top this time?
Kelsey snorted. Maybe monogamy wasn’t such a bad idea after all. At least then she wouldn’t have to worry about being trapped in paradise with two sexy chefs.
Wait a minute… maybe she was looking at this all wrong. Would they be down for a threesome? A little food play and then a heaping spoonful of double penetration? Kelsey snorted, then cocked an eyebrow. Actually… that wasn’t a bad idea. Talk about turning lemons into—
She stopped at the open doorway of her room. “Goddammit, Arroyo.” She quickly averted her eyes to focus on the wooden ceiling above. “Do youownclothes?”
“Sorry.” He sure didn’tsoundsorry. “Just got out of the shower. I thought I was alone.”
“Yeah, well, you’re not.” Her gaze flicked to his face and that stupid one-dimpled grin. The man was infuriating. He made no move to get dressed, just stood there in all his glory with his hands on his hips. And,oh, was itglorious. She’d been pleasantly surprised when he pressed it into her backside last night, and well, Little Alexander was notlittleat all.
To keep herself from staring at the goods, she looked up at the ceiling again. “Arroyo.”
“Sutton.”
“Please get dressed.”
“Why?”
If she dared to look, she might never stop looking. “Because I don’t mix business with pleasure.”
