Leska twisted and touched Khytten’s shoulder. A gold glow transferred over. “Thank you. Being human-classed most of my life means that medical attention comes with... attention.”

Cadence smiled at the golden glow and chuckled. “Yes, Khytten. Thank you for being my neighbour.”

“This is an interesting start, but I will get the first dose as soon as Leska puts her dress on. She’s gorgeous.”

“Flatterer.” Leska pulled her dress on and straightened it.

Khytten opened the door with a jerk, and there was a thud. “Perv. Nothing out of these two. They aren’t into women.”

Khytten stepped over what turned out to be her husband, and he sat up, nodded to the ladies, and got to his feet, dogging after his wife.

Cadence laughed. “I think he’s helping.”

They smiled and went to meet Raek, Im-bar, and Dr. Torenne.

Torenne smiled at them and said, “Productive chat?”

“Very. It seems that no ancient scar tissue is too stubborn.”

Im-bar smiled. “Torenne was just telling us that she has tremendous faith in Khytten’s abilities.”

“Where is the wonder girl, anyway?” Torenne looked back the way they had come.

Cadence said, “She’s pumping.”

“Oh, didn’t want to go direct? It’s more effective.”

Leska smiled. “It will be plenty effective. I am not worried. I am also not willing to suck on the breast of a woman I just met. I did not have the BDC training that her other playmates have had. I am firmly in the hetero camp.”

Torenne blinked. “Oh. I forgot about that.”

Raek walked over, and Cadence blushed as he held her close.

Leska chuckled. “We went to the same camp.”

Torenne laughed. “You remind me of someone.”

“I get that a lot.”

Cadence smiled. “Leska’s related to two agents, or an agent and a BDC member.” She paused. “Oh, and another BDC member.”

Torenne looked curious. “What?”

Raek said, “I am sure it was mentioned to Salat and Khytten, and if not, I don’t think Leska wants it discussed twice.”

Leska shrugged. “I get the feeling it will be discussed a lot more.”

She was going to continue, but Khytten and Salat came back with a flask and a bunch of vials in a rack. They sat at the table and used a funnel to pour the contents of the flask.

Torenne frowned. “How will you know which is which?”

Khytten focused on pouring. “They both need deep scars from childhood attended to. I did the scans when I was examining them.”

Torenne looked over. “I could heal them.”

Khytten shook her head. “They are too old, over a decade. There is no active tissue for you to manipulate. The nerves are dead on a lot of Leska’s deeper punctures.”

Torenne frowned. “You were children?”
