“Oh.” She relaxed.

“Why the sudden lack of tension?”

“Well, if you work for him, and he’s an omega, then you aren’t interested in me.”

He chuffed. “Incorrect. The last heat he had was several decades ago. His interest in you is as an art piece for his court.”

“Ew.”

“Would you come with me for an introduction? My interest in you is far more direct.”

“Direct?”

“I want a mate. He wants an ornament.”

He extended his hand to her, and she looked at the amused Tirra and Gorith and then put her hand in his and walked down to where Raek and Cadence were talking with the shiny omega.

She walked up to them, and the gorgeous man inclined his head. “Lady Leska, I am very pleased to make your acquaintance.”

“Nice to meet you, too.”

The tiger lowered his hand, and she pulled hers back to her side.

The omega was smiling in deep amusement. “So, little one. Are you impressed by the alphas gathered to court you?”

“Nope. Scared out of my mind.”

That jolted him. “Why scared?”

“I have a secondary activation, and if I don’t have the right alpha, I will kill the one that is on me or in me. I need to pull alotof energy for the last change. I don’t want to hurt anyone.”

“What is your next activation?” He was smiling indulgently. “What needs so much power?”

She beckoned him in and whispered in his ear, “A dragon.”

He leaned back. “You are clever to have knowledge of my weakness.”

She frowned. “What now?”

“If you can shift, prove it.” He stared at her with something she couldn’t understand in his gaze.

She blinked. “I can’t. I don’t want to hurt anyone.”

“Take the energy from me. I have more than enough.”

She was going to refuse, but he grabbed her around the waist and pulled her in tight. She gasped, and with the gasp, she pulled energy from him. When he kissed her, it was heaven, but power coursed into her as she pushed against his chest.

When he let her go, she was glowing gold, and she staggered away from the crowd as her skin scaled over, wings sprouted, and she snorted a bright cascade of flame.

The omega looked at her in wonder. He held his hand out to her, and she returned to his side, shocked and cuddled against him while he told her how glorious she was.

She turned her head, and Raek looked surprised, but Cadence was grinning.

“Etir, can you coax our little dragon into her human form?” The omega looked at the tiger.

The alpha took her in his arms and simply began to purr. She gasped as her skin began to mottle and change again. The wings receded, and she was holding tight to him, as her normal self.

She looked up at him, confused. “Tigers don’t purr.”
