“Yeah, I remember you. I’m in town for the weekend visiting family.” Then, when Lawless remained silent, Joshua Muller added, “No one stood a chance with her with you around.”

Lawless canted his head to the side, stared. “How sad for you. What about the three years I was gone? What’s your excuse then?”

The guy flushed and fell over his words. “I didn’t... she was...”

“She was what? Already done with you? This isn’t news to me, Joshua Muller. If Angela had wanted to keep you, she would have.”

“I’m just saying, you’re the reason.”

“I’m not seeing a problem.”

“I can’t leave you alone for a second without you being grumpy to someone, can I?” a female voice interrupted. “Do I have to ban you from the bar?”

“Try it and watch what happens, angel.”

The badass cackled, as though unafraid of his threat. Was he losing his enforcer touch? Unacceptable. He’d make her pay when he got her home.

As luck would have it, he didn’t need to wait until tonight to teach Angela a lesson. Not long after he returned to theSoulstables, he had a clear view of boy wonder hugging Angela. As they pulled apart, boy wonder flashed a smile, but the badass shifted her gaze to Lawless.

Ah, she wanted a show, did she? A public claiming in front of the clan.

Was she so mistrusting of what he’d told her about her belonging to him?

So be it, you asked for it.

Lawless’ gait was slow across the busy bar, and he knocked knuckles on the chrome top. “Get over here, badass.”

“Yes? What can I get you?”

You can yank down those tight fucking jeans and take the spanking my hand is aching to give.

“Get this side of the bar.”

She blinked. “Why?”

“Don’t make me repeat it, Angela.”

She huffed, but his eyes tracked her journey until she was in front of him, sassy and defiant, with her chin held high. Then, palming the back of her neck, he watched her eyes turn hazy. “I’m working, Lawless. And it’s my first day. And my two bosses are sitting over there. I’m not making an excellent impression by letting you maul me.”

“This isn’t a mauling. You’ll know when I maul you because my fucking teeth marks will coat every inch of your skin.”

Some woman behind them gasped, “Oh, my god.”

“Take five and show me to the breakroom.”

“What?” she squeaked with shock. “I can’t do that.”

One little squeeze on her neck, and Angela whimpered, scowling at him. “You’re insane, do you know that? I really am going to ban you out.”

“Nice try. Get moving, angel.”

His hand around her nape, Angela led the way, but a worried-looking Zara stopped them. Her stare bounced questions between Lawless and Angela.

“Hey, now wait. What’s happening?”

“Zara, it’s fine.”

“It doesn’t look fine.”
