Even as his bones creaked and resettled, even as his stomach churned its own acid willing Kyle to vomit his nerves up on the sidewalk, he didn’t show any signs of his unease.

He had to be strong.

Needed to remember he was a dog in this fight now and he had just as much right to earn his money like everyone else, and fuck them if they thought they could take a slice of it. They had their chance for his loyalty and threw it away.

As that the door burst open, two big guys he recognized from moments ago came barrelling out, one laughing, the other not but their steps were in sync swaying together, not touching but shoulder to shoulder, both stopped when they saw Kyle.

“Look who it is, the runt of the litter.” Smirked Rider and turned to his friend. “You remember me tellin’ you about the jackass so desperate to suckle from Rex’s teat, Hawk? This is the guy. What’s up, runt, come to beg Rex to take you back?”

Fists clenched at Kyle’s sides.

A rolling boil passed across his vision before he reined it in, but for a second he could see himself killing Rider with fists and nothing much else until blood covered his face, until the guy was well and truly destroyed. That kind of anger was in him, it lived and breathed and most often Kyle had to control the urges, to remind himself of his plans.

One day he’d destroy this dipshit gloating in front of him. It was a sure thing, but he wanted to take everything from Rider, down to the very last thing he cared for, his club, his life. Everything.

He could wait. He was good at that.

“Haven’t you got someone’s cock to suck, golden boy? Or has daddy bought your way in with that as well?”

Kyle answered with his own sneer to see a flash of uncertainty crossed Rider’s face before he schooled his expression and it was gone.

But Kyle had seen it and he’d dine on that look for weeks to come.

“Stay the fuck away from my club, runt. We didn’t want you, didn’t you get the message?”

Oh, he got that message loud and clear.

At Rider’s side, his silent friend was watchful, it was more than obvious they were friends and Hawk would side with Rider in all things. That twinge of recognition hit him again, something about this new guy left Kyle uneasy.

“Do I know you?” he had to ask.

“No.”

Why did Kyle feel like he knew him somehow?

Rider leaned in and whispered something Kyle couldn’t catch, Hawk nodded.

A natural friendship. The kind he’d wanted from the club. To belong. Kyle clock a gaze to Kevin picking some shit from his teeth and sighed inwardly wanting to punch this guy for being so fucking dumb all the time. What an asshole. He’d never call him friend, but he would use him.

And now he knew just how to hurt Rider and the rest of the Renegade Souls.

If you can’t join them … beat them. Wasn’t that the saying? He couldn’t recall, his father filled his head so much with scripture some days that’s all Kyle could hear in the back of his head.An eye for an eye, yeah, he liked that one.

He’d take all their eyes.

It would take a lot of money for the kind of long term destruction he had in mind if he was to take theSoulsout from the ground up. Nodding to Kevin and his brother, they walked off, leaving Rider and his boyfriend behind.

Making plans. His mind whirring. Why hadn’t he thought of this sooner?

It was fucking brilliant.

He got hard thinking of it.

Fuck. It was genius.

He needed more money though, so fucking much more and he’d need a place, bigger than the whorehouse.

Pussy was the easiest way to bring home the bacon, you could deal pussy all day long and the money would come, it took care of itself basically. Nah, it was the rest of the business that took time and effort to put in place, but now he had a thread through Kevin Timebridge and Kyle had a fancy to make more cash than he knew what to do with and for that he would need to up his game, to throw his hand in another ring; drugs.
