“Folks don’t let you have playdates on a school night, Fierro?” He’s quick when he tries to slam the door in my face. I stop it with my hand and step forward to see his eyes. He really is an aloof robot. I think I preferred him pissed off at me like he was in the restaurant. I still can’t stomach my jealousy watching those guys all over him.
“I’m sorry, okay. Let me in.”
He looks like he’s about to slam the door again before he exhales and widens it for me to step into a large tiled foyer. “Anyone home?”
“Raene is on a sleepover and my parents are in the city on a date.”
Huh. Didn’t know parents did that. This family is weird.
“Don’t you have frat parties to go to?” He asks in that monotone voice of his that makes a person believe he couldn’t care less about the answer. Sage differs from his brothers. With the other two Fierro yokels, you know what you’re getting. Theo is the competitive bastard and Lachlan is the smart, vengeful type.
Would I have even noticed Sage if my body didn’t go rogue by throwing all these weird gay feelings at me? Probably not. The guy is popular for a nerd in his own circle. He’s one of those rare guys who doesn’t give a crap what people think about him. But we never would have mixed otherwise.
I’m left cold at the thought of never knowing him.
“Trying to get rid of me already?”
“I didn’t invite you here, Maverick. I told you to stay away from me.”
“I don’t listen so well, it’s my only flaw.” I smirk and he rolls his eyes.
Then he gets brave by coming forward until we’re toe to toe and my stomach flames to ashes as I get his scent in my nose. Apples. He kicks his chin up and stares at me before he grabs my hips and brushes us together. The feeling is one of shock and lust, and I lick my bottom lip. His eyes flare, watching me. He’s affected too. My arms hang at my sides like two heavy slabs, unsure what to do next.
I know what I want to do.
It’s what I’ve wanted for days. Weeks. Goddamn months.
Sage’s presence has tormented me, even when he had no clue what he was doing.
“I don’t like being messed with.” He rasps, his breath touches my lips.
Everything about our exchange at the restaurant had been raw and emotional. Can’t say I was in control. Dinner out with my mom always puts me in a weird headspace to begin with. She asked me tobe nicewith dad. But then I saw Sage and all other thoughts got pushed to the back burner. Then I saw the guys around him like flies and I lost my cool big time.
I wanted to fucking maul him until they left him alone.
“Am I messing with you?”
“You know you are. I told you to stay away from me.”
“You’re the one with his hands all over me.” I half grin with a dare behind my words. He doesn’t let go. He squeezes my waist hard enough to bring our cocks in alignment, and that’s when he groans from deep in his throat.
“Does anyone else know you’re gay?”
Anger tickles the back of my throat. “I’m not gay.”
As soon as he laughs, the air pushes over my lips. He comes closer, tipping his head a little to the left so his hair flops that way. My hand buries in it before I can do anything else, and when I twist my fingers around it, he grunts and bumps me with his pelvis.
“Yeah, sure. Put your tongue in my mouth and tell me that lie again.”
Sounds like an invitation to me and with an exhale, we’re kissing each other like unleashed animals. Does it make me gay that I can’t stop kissing him, wanting to kiss him, thinking about doing a lot more than kissing him? Don’t care right now. Not when he tastes amazing.
A pain lances through my lip, he has hold of the back of my neck. I pull my mouth back and lick my bottom lip.
“Jesus, you bit me, you little fucking vampire.”
“I don’t see the problem,” he announces, wearing the sexiest smirk I’ve ever seen. When I grunt, it’s me this time to yank his blond head to me.
I don’t hide the erection pounding behind my zipper. It wants out. And it wants Sage.
