“And definitely not that either.” Why did my friends keep trying to hook up with Brooklyn?
“I’m not opposed to either of those,” Justin said. “I feel like I missed out on something scandalous. But I have a game along those lines. How about seven minutes in heaven?”
Actually, I could get down with that one. I glanced over at Jacob again. He’d fallen asleep in Tanner’s arms. “Perfect, Justin. We’re up first,” I said.
“We are?” Justin stood up.
“Dude, I meant with Brooklyn.”
“You really should have been more specific. Come with me, Brooklyn.” He stood up and put his hand out for her.
“What? No.I’mgoing with Brooklyn.”
“What did I just say about being specific?” Justin sat down and crossed his arms over his chest.
Brooklyn squealed when I pulled her over my shoulder again.
“What is seven minutes in heaven?” Tanner asked. “Where are they going?”
Rob groaned. “Seriously? Where did you say you grew up again?”
“Abroad. All over. You wouldn’t have heard of it.”
“Seven minutes in heaven is when you hook up in a closet for seven minutes.”
“But there aren’t any closets here,” Tanner said. “And why would you hook up in a closet when there’s perfectly good tents?”
“You are the most ridiculous human I’ve ever met,” Rob said.
Brooklyn laughed as their argument drifted away into the night. “Back to the kidnapping thing?” she asked. She lightly slapped my butt.
“We got a little interrupted earlier.” I ducked under the flap of the tent and zipped it up behind us. And then I sat down, pulling her onto my lap.
She straddled my waist. “Just seven minutes, huh?” She placed her hands on my shoulders.
The air was hushed in here. It was just the two of us. I couldn’t even hear Rob and Tanner bickering. “Just seven minutes,” I said and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She was so fucking beautiful.
“Well, you better hurry up and fuck me, big boy.” Her eyes grew round as soon as the words tumbled out of her mouth.
I laughed. “Did you just call me big boy?”
Her face flushed. “You know what I meant. We probably only have like six minutes left. And my hormones are going crazy right now.” She reached for the hem of my shirt. “Arms up.”
“I love how demanding you’re being.”
“But you’re not listening.” She had my shirt pushed up over my abs, but got distracted and trailed her hand down them.
“I really didn’t think kidnapping you was going to turn you on this much,” I said.
“It didn’t. I told you, it’s the hormones.”
“Hmm.” I put my hand on the side of her face.
“Matthew freaking Caldwell, why aren’t you taking your pants off?”
I couldn’t stop smiling. “Because I’m not giving you a quickie in…” I glanced at my watch. “…five minutes. I brought you in here to make out with you. Which is what seven minutes in heaven is.”
“For like…tweens. We’re adults. Seven minutes in heaven is getting railed.”
