"Yes. I'm supposed to deliver more in two days."
Two days? He had to wait two more days for answers? "Give us the package. We'll deliver it."
"It's not finished."
"Doesn't matter. It won't be getting to them anyway."
Dr. Emerson chewed his lip and then got up, hurrying from the room.
Ares' mind raced. They had a lead- a tangible connection. But he would have to wait two whole days.
His wolf grumbled. No wait. Now.
"Ares, we need to keep him from making any more for them."
Ares nodded.
"Suggestibility?" Theo muttered. "The implications of that are limitless."
"It's possible he means to use them on the rogues to keep them compliant," said Santiago.
"Or on us, or the Alphas."
Ares chewed his lip. Was it possible that Titan didn't have the same command that he and Apollo did? He was an Alpha, yes. He was their father's son… but he wasn't their father's offspring by his fated mate. Did that make a difference? Was there something more to it than that?
He didn't know. But the possibility was intriguing.
Ares rubbed the center of his sternum. The next 48 hours, waiting for the drop, would be the longest two days of his life. He had no clue what the hell he would do in the meantime.
CHAPTER TEN
TITAN
Titan walked briskly down the hallway, his mind racing. He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts as he approached the meeting room. Now wasn't the time to dwell on River and what she had said to him, or had not said. What she thought of the art studio, or didn't think. He had more pressing matters to attend to.
As he entered, Kane and several other high-ranking members of his pack stood from their seats around the large oak table.
"Report." Titan took his place at the head of the table.
Kane moved forward, his face grim. "The shipment of new suppressors should be here in three days."
"Did Doctor Emerson contact us with a total?"
Kane shook his head. "Not yet. He's most likely still working on it. You doubled the order this time."
Titan nodded. "As soon as he delivers to the storage unit and it's been picked up, send the money. We need to make sure he stays invested in helping us."
Kane nodded.
"Ares and Apollo?"
"Nothing yet."
"And the safe house?"
"Still nothing. But we have everyone on it. The estate is under total surveillance. If they or any of their missing guards show up, we'll know."
"We need to accelerate our timeline," Titan said. "How soon can we be ready to move on the estate?"
