Page 4 of Coff

Brad, my best friend since first grade, is grinning at me. “Coff, glad to see you two finally getting some nourishment. I was worried I’d have to call an ambulance to resuscitate you.”

I hand Delaney a napkin, and she grabs a slice of pizza. I do the same.

“Did he just call you Cough? You sick or something?” she asks.

Brad laughs. “No, Coff as in Coffee.”

She frowns. “Why?”

“It’s the nickname some of the guys on base gave me. Brad thinks it’s funny, so now he calls me that, too,” I explain.

She’s still frowning. “Why did they give you that nickname?”

Brad sets down his slice. “I’m guessing you don’t know his last name.”

She blushes, which reminds me of what a contradiction she is. At times, she’s so forward, but at others, she’s shy and embarrasses easily. “No, I know everything else about him, though.” She winks at me. “Okay, so what is your last name?”

“Folger.”

“Seriously? And they gave you the nickname Coffee? A little on the nose, don’t you think?” She takes a bite of her pizza.

“I like her,” Brad says.

“And I like you for getting Hawaiian pizza. My favorite,” Delaney says, not noticing I’m picking off the pineapple.

“Okay, now I really like her,” Brad says, grinning at me.

“Fruit on pizza is wrong,” I say.

She then sees what I’m doing and grabs the extra pineapple, popping them into her mouth. I watch her full lips as she chews, imaging them back on my cock. And damn, I’m getting hard again.

“Dude! Can you go five minutes? Please!” Brad asks, holding his hand up to block his view of my now-obvious hard-on. I probably shouldn’t be wearing sweats around this woman.

I laugh. “Sorry. I just can’t get enough of her.”

Brad rolls his eyes. “Okay, maybe you two do need some sort of help.”

Delaney shakes her head. “No, we’re just trying to get in as much as possible before he leaves.”

Brad cocks his head. “And then what? Is this a one-night stand, or are you guys going to date?”

Delaney and I both choke on our food. We hadn’t discussed anything past this week. I mean, how would anything work anyhow? I have no idea where I’ll be shipped to or for how long. But there is something about her. Our eyes meet, and a vision comes to me of us, much older, surrounded by our children.

I wipe my hands on my napkin and stand up. “Excuse me.”

I head to the bathroom and close the door. What the hell was that? I’ve never had any sort of image like that. Is this love at first sight? I think hard about that for a minute. No. It’s lust at first sight, not love.

But it could be. I squeeze my eyes closed. What is going on with me? I wash my hands and return to the living room, where Brad and Delaney are laughing about something. I stop in my tracks as I watch her.

Everything in me says she’s the one. Could we actually date and make this work?

After we finish the pizza, Brad leaves to hang out with some friends. Delaney pulls my pants down and wraps those fine lips around me until I’m seeing stars. But all I can think is I need to be inside her. Again.

After we collapse onto each other, spent from what we’ve done, I run my hand up and down her back. “What Brad said was interesting.”

She leans up and looks at me. “Which thing? He talks a lot, you know.”

I laugh because he does. “The part about dating after this week.”
